Over the last weekend, I saw two of the best movies I have ever seen in my life. The only problem is, I can't decide which one is better.
So on Friday night, my best friend and I went to see "District 9" as a parting of the ways as we both head off to school. I came in with high expectations and was blown away. It all has been said time and time again, but this movie was intense, brutal, philisophical, and just plain better than sex.
DISTRICT 9 [http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/district_9/]
Genre master Peter Jackson produces this science-fiction film, the directorial debut of Neill Blomkamp. In District 9, South Africa has become a haven for refugees--from outer space.

Rotten Tomatoes rating- 88%
Then, on Saturday night, my father convinced me to go see "The Hurt Locker", which he had already seen the week before. I came in expecting a slow paced thinking-man's movie, but what I got blew my socks off. Despite being low on the radar, "The Hurt Locker" is, quite simply, badass. The phrase 'on the edge of your seat' has never been used more appropriatly. If they don't win some award for this movie, there is no god.
THE HURT LOCKER [http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/hurt_locker/]
The Hurt Locker is a riveting, suspenseful portrait of the courage under fire of the militarys most unrecognized heroes: the technicians of the bomb squad, who volunteer to challenge the odds and save lives in one of the worlds most dangerous places.

Rotten Tomatoes rating- 98%
So I ask you, the readers of the Escapist, to choose between these two fantastic movies. Please only choose between the two if you have seen both, and please give a reason for your choice. Thanks!
