Title says it all. Are you the kind of person who regularly cooks your own meals, and enjoys it? Or do you typically leave cooking or preparation of meals to others (like buying pre-prepared meals from shops)?

From time to time.

I enjoy it somewhat too.

However these days I often don't bother unless I'm aiming to impress someone.

Well I live alone so if I didn't I'd starve, I'm not like great at it yet but it's fun, sometimes my cooking is so bad that it's repulsive though.

I cook occasionally, but I prefer to leave it to the more-qualified crowd. My cooking is often rudimentary as I lack the patience and skill to prepare more complex dishes.

Does cooking involve putting on a bunch of random shit out of your fridge onto a frozen pizza or making beans n' franks?

If so, yes. I cook all the time.

I chose other because I don't really eat. Only about once a day really.
When I do eat It's mostly 3 and sometimes 4.
The list is obviously incomplete since it can be broken down into several more stages in-between.
I think most people do 2 with some 3.

1: Acquired (caught/picked) and prepared the raw ingredients before cooking.
2: Bought ingredients (raw/fresh/prepared) before cooking.
3: Bought prepared (frozen/conserved) ingredients before heating/cooking.
4: Bought pre-packaged ready-to-eat meals.
(?5: Eat out/take away/order home.?)

I spent way too much time thinking about this than I care to admit...

I cook about half the meals cooked in my home, my dad cooks the other half, sometimes we cook together. That's the vast majority of our meals. Sometimes we order in or bring home pre-cooked deli stuff from the supermarket, rarely do we eat out, too poor for that. So yeah I cook, I generally enjoy it.

I can put stuff in the microwave and push the buttons.

If that doesn't count, then no. Luckily, I'm dating a guy who likes cooking, so I don't have to learn to cook!

I tend to cook in big batches, enough chilli or curry to last a week. That way I don't have to do it that often, not that I mind it, it just takes up valuable sitting down time and tends to be cheaper.

I can cook but wanting to cook depends on the time so obviously if I want something quick I microwave something or order takeout.

No one else is gonna do it for me and I do like to eat warm food once a day. I'm not particularly good at it and I mostly stick to instructions on the pack or if neccesary on the internet. And if those instructions have more than 5 steps I'll make something else.

In all seriousness, from time to time. My oven broke some time ago and I haven't gotten to fix it yet. So my options are limited.

Also, I love crockpot. It doesn't heat up the kitchen on hot summer days.

Yeah and I mostly enjoy it. I have this habit of leaving the cooking until I'm really hungry which makes the process a little torturous.

Even though it wasn't ask I'm going to talk about what I cook, cause I love talking about food.

The dishes I make somewhat regularly are Curries, Spaghetti Bolognese, Chilli Con Carne, Fajitas, Chicken Stew, Fish Chowder, Beef Casserole, Pasta Bakes (usually with chicken, cheese, chorizo Sausage), Lasagne, Stir Fries... I even make up my own sauces and stocks from time to time, though I'm fine with using store both ones. I love Mexican and Italian food, so they are my most frequently made dishes. Fajitas and Bolognese are so simple yet so tasty.

I don't cook as much as I used to though. I'm living with a fella who loves cooking and who's really good at it. He does most of the cooking in a week while I take the off days.
