I have multiple tattoos on my arms and back. Every tattoo I get must be thought on for a year at the very least. If I still really like the idea of the tattoo after a year, I get it once I have the money lying around. It usually equates to 1 new piece a year. I have a lot of problems with certain people getting tattoos. Here's the thing: some people just want a tattoo, not a specific image. That's a problem for me. If you have an image already in mind that you want done, that's fine with me, but if you pose this question to yourself: "I want a tattoo but I'm not sure what I want to get" do not get it, that's how dudes end up with all that bullshit tribal garbage.
As for your plan to get a band tattoo: I can't urge enough against it. I wanted to get band stuff done when I was 18 and it was a terrible fucking idea. Even a year later I was looking back on it and shuddering with the possibilities of having the logo of bands I only listen to on occasion, now, tattooed on my upper arm. Please, think about what you're doing for a little longer before you go and get something as superficial as a band logo on your chest.
