A lot of my friends are hardcore starcraft players.I Liked the original command and conquer but the style of gameplay was not my thing.

I still play Star Wars: Empire at War quite a lot, and I've played a fair bit of Total War games and plenty others.

I like RTS to a certain extent. I enjoyed Empire Earth, and CnC zero Hour. But I'm not much of a competitive player and I never really got the 'Oh, wow.... I want to play this every day!' vibe like some of my friends get from it. I guess RTS just isn't my thing, though I still like to play ZH and World in Conflict (Though WiC is more of a RTT(Real Time Tactics)) every now and then.

I used too, not so much now though, not really enjoyed one for a while.

Haegemonia was the last one I played and enjoyed, C&C 3, Supreme Commander 2, Age of Empires 3, they all lacked a fun element for me...

A love/hate thing. The kind of games that I always start at lowest difficulty to then find the point where the enemy puts quite some pressure onto me but without forcing me into hectic rushing. I want to take my time. I stay away from multiplayer - it always gets mean and nasty ;)

Idon't really play rts games because i never actually use strategy. I select everything on my side and tell them to attack everything on the other side. Works out alright for the most part.

Age of Empires, Rise of Nations, WarCraft 3, and StarCraft are all in my favorite game series of all time list.

A few. The Age Of series was AMAZING. I have great memories with Age of Empires 2: The Conqueror's Expansion and Age of Mythology. AoE3 is extremely good, too. But I don't really like the overly-complex, preplanning-required Starcraft style games.

I like some, like the Dawn of War series, I have fond memories of Empire Earth and Age of Empires II, and I like me some Total War, if that's counted. I know some people don't because of the turn based parts.

This of course, is a very unbalanced poll, since almost only people who like RTS will click this link.

That said, I do like Generals and Age of Empires, but only the Skirmish mode. I hate the fact that you basically play God, and still someone keeps yelling in your ear what you should do. That's why I don't play campaign with RTS, along with the fact that it always restricts you from buying the good stuff.

Turn-based will always be the premier league, but there are some good titles in the rts genre (Total War, Theatre of War, Brigade 7.62)

I love Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2. My late older brother turned me onto the game way back when it first came out and I still love playing it. I just the AI was a little more intelligent. -_-

There's nothing more thrilling than watching your Kirov Airships approach an enemy base or sending 10 prism tanks to eradicate the enemy! >:-D

No.

I tried to like them. After all, I'm rather fond of the idea of being a tactical genius.

However, I tend to have a problem with games that don't put me in control of a particular character, I do not find them engaging. Also, the top-down perspective robs RTS games of any drama or tension. It's hard to feel invested in a battle when it's taking place between what may as well be funny-shaped insects.

Oh yeah, and they never have good stories. Yet for some reason they insist on crowbarring a story in there anyway.

Yeah I like playing RTS. Something I want to take the backseat and it's not "me" who is kicking their asses (letting the units doing the work and it's a good feeling when you made you own base and a huge army).

I've tried really hard to like them. It hasn't happened yet, it's just doesn't engage me enough to keep my attention.
