I'm going through Jimquisition from the start because I haven't watched any episodes of it, and have noticed a lot of negative comments. So I'm just wondering how many people like the show.

Personally, I think overall it's funny and not meant to be taken too seriously since it is satire, though he does bring up issues worth considering about. For example, I looked down on people who thought CoD or Angry Birds was their favorite game until I took a look at his episodes.

I love the Jimquisiton! Have you thanked god for him today yet? Hehe

I could try to explain why I like it, but OP already did that pretty well.

It grew on me (like a rash). At first, I was didn't have any strong feelings one way or the other, but as I realized that his persona was satire and intended to be comical, I found that I enjoyed the videos a lot more.

That's what I was going to say. His style takes a few videos to get used to.
Huh. I guess I was used to it right away because I browse 4chan a lot so I love his trolly attitude.

Hated the pilot. Bitched muchly.

And then he stopped trying to be a stand up comedian and became this wonderful parody Evangelical thing and it was suddenly awesome. ^^

His over-the-top ego thing worked much better when it had a sense of parody about it. Episode 2 was better, but it was Episode 3 where he really nailed it. I'm now a big fan. ^^

Oh, and his very sensible writing in Extra Consideration also helped me warm up to him.

Well, it really depends. Just like anything extremely opinionated, if I disagree I will probably not enjoy it. He has some very interesting things to say sometimes but his style and tone make watching his videos something of a non-habit for me.

edit: i do really like his accent though. British dialogue/monologue always amuse me. Maybe that's why i cant stop watching Doctor Who and Monty Python.

I don't really know. I don't look forward to the next show nor do I really watch it when it comes out, but I do find it mostly enjoyable when I do watch it.

He started off really bad, but Jim quickly picked up his game. The more you watch of him, the more you'll like him.

Ok, first things first;

Alrighty, I am somewhat fond of his show, but often his "solutions" aren't very practical and are completely out of our hands. He makes a few good points, though.

I really didn't at first. I thought Jim was unfunny, offensive simply for the sake of it, and not very entertaining. I've watched his most recent few videos, though, and changed my mind.

His first few, I now feel, were Jim trying to find his feet, and he seems to have gotten more comfortable and more interesting. I think Jimquisition has improved markedly and begun to be both entertaining and thought-provoking.

Like most posters before me, I didn't like Jim to start with. Nowadays, I don't particularly look forward to his videos, and his crude drawings are a bit annoying, but the show isn't bad.

It's better now. I don't look forward to it like ZP or Miracle of Sound or Feed Dump (Wednesdays FTW), but I still watch it every week.

He's entertaining and occasionally gets me to agree with him. Even more hilarious is the fact that the more people hate him, the more powerful he becomes.

I've been going to Destructoid longer than I've been here, so I was very familiar with Jim before he started making content on The Escapist. So I guess I had already adjusted to his style. Dtoid breeds a certain kind of game journalist. I like it.

Edit: Ugh...this kind of sounds like I'm saying "I liked Jim before it was cool to like Jim". I'm just trying to say I was used to his style before he got here, because I think there is an acclimation period when it comes to him.

I like what he has to say, but I don't know why he bothers with that stupid character of his. It's not helping the show at all, and here's why:

1. If he's trying to play a character, he's doing a shitty job. He just kinda says something douche-y at the beginning and end of each episode. That's not the same thing as playing a character.
2. Yahtzee's already doing it better.
3. It isn't required to accomplish what he's trying to do. The actual substance of his videos wouldn't lose anything if he dropped it.

Although he's still a bit rough around the edges (too spoiled by Extra Credits and The Big Picture), he does have a lot of good points that while I not necessary agree with, they are thought provoking and spot-on. So yeah, I like the Jimquisition a lot.

Also, gotta love his mastercraft in MS Paint.
