Poll: Do you miss cheat codes?

Remember the time where you can have unlimited lives and create crazy ass anarchy in more games than one?

Remember these times were simpler and enjoyable because of the sheer ridiculousness that cheats gave? Now that games have gotten a bit more sophisticated, they don't find cheat codes are needed. Despite GTAIV having cheat codes, it simply didn't feel the same.

Do you remember? Don't you miss it?

(I'm aware of mods you hermits. I'm talking about the consoles )

Riot Cheat + Gives all Pedestrians Weapons Cheat + a few others in GTA 3 was just amazingly fun.

We used to have a challenge on another forum where we'd start from the first safehouse, try to get to the second one, then to the third one without dying. We found that it was much harder traveling by car than on foot because some random ped with an RPG would instantly kill you... I don't believe any of us ever completed the challenge.

Except I only used them when fucking around in multiplayer with friends, or until I beat the game first.

Your Poll choices made me laugh. I kinda miss them, it's just that whenever I'd use them I'd feel bad after. If it was a code that would effect every aspect of the game like maxed out stats or whatever, I'd restart the game.

Cheats gave games so much more replay value and could save an otherwise horrible game. But apparently companies forget that.

yeah, cheat codes used to be fun, and usually not a hassle to enter either, now all we have is AR and Gameshark, it's kind of depressing really.

Personally, I don't miss them. I felt so dirty the first time I used a game shark on my pokemon game.
I don't deserve to catch 'em all! *breaks pokemon cartridge*

GTA San Andreas was really fun for the odd cheats and things they had.
