Poll: Do you own a 3D TV?

So Escapist do you own 3D TV's? I personally don?t, too expensive and I do not see the point. The only time I would use it is for playing video games and I?m not even sure how often I wound use it then.

If you have a 3D TV what do you use it for and how often?

No, I only recently purchased and HDTV. I really see no point in putting thousands of dollars down on a tv just for a 3D effect when I could just go to the movies.

3D isn't at a point where it really improves the experience, so no. Maybe when we don't need the glasses anymore.

I like the idea of a TV that can display 3D, but the results I have seen so far are not appealing to me. Also, they are far too expensive.

I see it as an expensive gimmick, we had a group of about 10 people around last night, and were watching the Eurovision, if we had a 3D TV how would that have worked? we wouldn't have had enough glasses, and I don't think 3d works at angles, so half the people wouldn't actually be able to watch the TV. It has too many downsides to be the next big thing, at least for now.

Honestly, I like 3D when it's executed well, like in Avatar. But in theatres it works for me because the screen engulfs my field of vision, I'm fully emmersed in the experience. Not so much at home, or I should buy a really big 3D TV and place my couch pretty close in front of it.

But I ain't seeing that happen any time soon, thanks to cash and space issues. That, and the amount of quality products in high-quality 3D is still very very low. Just ain't worth it.

I own a 3d monitor but i aint got the 3d kit, i mostly have the monitor because it allows up to 120fps and my next rig will be a full blown 3d rig and i needed a new monitor anyway lol.

No, will never get one either. I have enough trouble seeing 2D and I already wear a pair of glasses.

Once holograms become the norm I'll get a projector but 3D television is less useful to me than a phone made of bricks.
