As I was playing Shadow of the Colossus recently I began wondering how few people still play on the previous generation consoles. I do have a working xbox 360 with plenty of games but it's the old but good games that recently drew me in. Partly it's the price of the old ones, I ordered Naval Ops Warship Gunner for $4.99 from Gamestop for example, and partly it's the fact that many of these games never came out for the original xbox or never had sequals on a current console.
I'm also prone to taking advantage of the xbox 360's limited backwards compatibility to play Star Wars Battlefront 2 or Ninja Gaiden. Sure the games still tell you to press the black or white button despite these being replaced on the 360 by the right and left bumpers but aside from that minor control switch the games are still fun despite it having been many years since their release.
How many of the Escapists still play the old systems?
