when my mum and i go to a restaurant where they have those sachets of mayonnaise, ketchup, salad cream etc, she always takes more sachets then she needs and brings the rest home. i don't blame her, i do the same thing. some people have moaned at her for doing it and said it was he same as theft. what about you, do you take them or is it the same as theft?

It depends on the restaurant and the sauce; it's really no different than going through the drive through and being handed more sauce than you need.. One of my friends however has her own interesting little quirk involving these. Whenever she goes out she always will grab two or three servings of the sugar packets restaurants leave out for coffee and tea and puts them into her purse. Then when she goes to a different restaurant she does the same thing, but replaces the ones she took away with ones she had previously taken from a different restaurant. Her own little way of adding a little chaos to the system.

I think it's okay, as long as it's just leftover sachets, say they give you two and you only use one. Otherwise they'll only end up in the bin . . . .

As for just taking them, not sure. I wouldn't, but hey . . . each to their own.

If I remember I take a few sachets of the odd stuff like mustard and horseradish, staples like ketchup, brown sauce and mayonnaise I usually have in stock anyway.

I always take as many sugar sachets as I can fit in my pockets, it's like hotels, they expect you to steal anything that fits in your pockets.

If at first you don't succeed, steal shit and leg it.

I believe stealing is stealing regardless of what has been stolen. It's the act, not the item being taken which determines the wrongdoing.

Did anybody hear about the kids that slowly stole packets of the Fire sauce from Taco Bell, then one night returned them all? There were several thousand of them and they all ran into the Taco Bell and dumped them on the floor while people were eating. It was like a raid where people post a crapload of images on a website.

Sorry for no link, I don't remember where it was from.

Usually, though, I don't take extras with me because I never end up using them.

Of course! I always take 10-15 packets of mayonnaise and put them under the car wheel when we leave so they spray up the side of someone's car. We even used a full plastic squeezable bottle before...Good times!

Only from Taco Bell for the Fire, Mild & Hot sauces.
Yes! I love those little packets because they have the funny packet-talk on them. The "Scratch my back" one is my favorite.
