Someone commented that I should put some of my opinions in instead of only having a poll up so here it is. Riot sheilds in Modern Warfare 2 have a lot of potential to create more interactiong and planing for teams but it really depends on how often they will be used, how it will change movement in the game, and how much protection it will really give ( how well the feet are protected. ). My veiws are positive because riot shields are unlikely to become overpowered or over used. To get a better perspective on this I suggect you play Rainbow Six Vegas 2 a game where the riot shields are not used often and when they are it is usually easy to take them out unless the person with the shield has allies to cover his sides.

-The only worry I do have is what fighting someone with Juggernaught, a glock and a riot shield might become a problem in the small and urban maps.

Heres some gameplay of the shields in use
Copy and paste it (I did this on my mac and if it doesn't send you to the right page for some strange reason just ype riot shields modern warfare on youtube.com)

Yeah Maybe it will actually get people to work as a team, I know my little group of friends will be using them in our tactics when it comes out

I see nothing wrong with it has long has it won't make you completely invincible(For e.g. you would take 15-20 more shots than a player without the Riot Shield could take) and you'd be forced to use only "light" pistols whilst using it(No desert eagles)

Could it be a good addition? Maybe. I'll reserve judgement til I play it. I think it might add an interesting twist to defence/assault maps at least.

It depends, if they do it right then it could be a great addition but it could also become ridiculously over powered

Although I doubt that seeing how much focus is on the multiplayer

My opinion? Everything is better with riot shields.

But as far as i know, ones in MW2 are transparent. They could make two varieties - plastic and metal ones. Metal shields provide better defense, but limit your view.

No, you cant use ANY weapons with the shield. Smart move to make the game balanced, but it makes the shield useless.
Oh, no weapon with the shield? Well that's a nice move honestly, would encourage team play a bit more.

Well the Boom shield in Gears of War 2 was done right, as long as it's not worse than that it should be a nice addition.

Well, considering that I haven't played the game, I can't say. I personally don't care, and think that everyone bitching about certain perks/items ruins the game. And trust me, it will happen.

Did they work in CS? Seriously I don't know the answer to this one.

I guess if you were to start off as a Riot Cop, who later discards the shield for a good old M4A1 Maverick. :)

I think that they will force people to work together more which is always a good thing. Also, it might help to give a losing team a bit of help by ensuring that they live at least a bit longer.

They could work if used properly, like protecting you team mates from enemy fire, but honestly who in a random match will just go around protecting other people and getting nothing for themselfs? i mean the peope who i have seen/met online are all selfish and would prefer the kills.
