Ok, so the things is that about 90% of my school tells someone to send the message to someone else they want to date them. For example, John asks Michael to tell Eva that John wants her to date him. Don't you think that is incredibly lazy and disrespectful to your crush? I present this arguement to everyone who does it and they have no problem with it.

It's not lazy but it's cowardly and it's unlikely to get the result you want.

People of both sexes like confidence, and message-passing practically screams from the rafters "I have no confidence to speak of".

I've always seen it described as more cowardly than lazy. I don't see how finding someone to be the messenger and telling them how to relay that message is lazier.

I don't do that, but I understand why people would, its not so much disrespectful but it really won't get that many good responses. Some people are just too shy to do it face to face.

That happens when you are really little. If it is still happening past the age of fourteen then I'd say that's really strange.

No that isn't laziness, they do that because people get nervous talking directly to their crushes. It's a pretty common thing.

Ah, the joys of being 7 again.

If you've got even a little bit of respect for your partner, man up, and ask them face to face. Dern internet and them cellular phones, making this shit way too easy.

Message passing doesn't seem lazy so much as it does incredibly immature. I mean, that's what you do on the playground when you're eight. "My friend likes you!"

I mean, it's not like there's anything wrong with a mutual friend trying to set two people up of their own accord, but outright telling someone else to do it is, well...pretty chickenshit. And it's not exactly subtle or charming, is it?

Its not lazy, but if I';m going to do that er-hem, I mean if MICHAEL is going to do that then john is going to learn a lesson when mIchael walks by with the girl John loved on his arm saying toodles, I hope you're sack dropped watching this.

So yyeah, not lazy, but it seems a sure fire while to bite you in the ass, especially if your friends are pricks and will saying something like, oh yeah, John loves you, but he has AIDS and Crotchrot and Herpes all rolled into one, so you may wanna watch how close you get to him.

.... Which sadly is how my, er hem, I mean John's friends would act.

Like many already said; not lazy but very cowardly.
Still... Don't people stop doing that around age ten?

I'm socially awkward beyond all reason, but even I would send them an email myself, if not tell them to their face.

Either hold it in or say it to their face. That kind of cop out isn't deserved of someone you actually think you appreciate.

This happened to me with the exception that I was on the recieving end. My good friends stalker at the time (they're now dating) was bothering him and just randomly told me to go talk to this girl cause she liked me. BAD THINGS HAPPENED. Trust me this isn't just lazy it als leads to alot of messy situations.

It's lazy AND cowardly. I don't even know how it picked up in Arthurian legends where all the guys were like Chuck Norris in armor. No self-respecting guy should need someone else to speak for him.

wow I'm surprised that more people didn't pick to porn option

porn will never cheat on you
or yell at you for leaving the toilet seat up
or say "*sigh* we never do anything"
then subsequently shoot down every idea for a thing to do that you can come up with
then get mad at you when you stop suggesting things
or mentally translate the phrases "you choose" or "I don't care" as grievous personal insults
or get in a fist fight with one of your female friends over a conversation she only thinks you were having...

any way none of those things ever happened to me because I am one of the porn watching master race
so enjoy your human interactions suckers
