Poll: Do You Turn Off Your PC/Console?

Some people never off his PC, they just leave it on all the time.
I'm not an expert, but that doesn't seem to healthy for the computer.

So I ask you do you turn off your PC/console after a gaming session?

Edit: For discussion value, why do you think it's ok to turn it off/leave it on?

Yes i turn off my console every time i'm done with a sesh of gaming. Not doing so would end breaking the thing and kill it.

I always turn off my console, yes.

My laptop, on the other hand: Well, it takes a while to boot up, and sometimes certain programs won't load for some reason (like itunes or Guitar pro) so I usually just put it on standby instead.

I always used to turn off my computer, but since I moved to a laptop (which I can just shut and it pauses everything and goes silent), I've fallen into the habit of leaving it "on". It's very unusual for me to leave it open and running, but I sometimes do that too, if I start a large download just before bed.

I still do a proper shut down every few weeks, to install updates and clear out memory and such.

I always turn off my PC if I'm going to be away for a couple of hours or more. I don't know why, but I can't imagine leaving it on 24/7 like some of my friends do is good for it.

Depends... when i am filesharing i keep it running.

Sometimes a few days. But sometimes i shut it off every day.

I turn of my console when I'm not using it, the computer is rarely off.
We're usually watching something or playing on it. Although it really me, it's my fellas computer, so I don't really have a say in it.

Considering what my PC has to go trough in a day, keeping it on at night would murder it. In august I had a room fan blowing air in it so it wouldn't crash while rendering. The cool nights were rest and relaxation time.

Sure I do. I don't understand people that leave their PC's on all the time.

It sleeps when I do, unless I'm downloading something. My sister always leaves hers on which results in a higher mortality rate than any of mine.

I always shut my laptop and my XBox down. I then turn everything off at the plug. Mostly it's a money thing. Living in a student house isn't cheap at the best of times, I don't need to be running up electricity bills by wasting electricity as well

I assume the reason that people leave things on is convenience, that they just don't want to wait for everything to load

i put it on hibernate during the day when i don't use it and turn it off properly at night

PC I generally leave on but I turn off the monitors. Console I turn to the "off" setting but I don't flip the switch in the back.

I either put my comp to sleep or hibernate if I am not using it and only turn it off once every 3 weeks or so.

I always turn everything off. PC, console, tv, audio receiver etc.

I only leave my PC running if I'm going to use it or maybe file sharing or downloading something, but even then I set the sleep timer. But at the end of the day, power off.

I turn it off. I don't think it's good for them to be on all the time, and it wastes electricity. Also, make sure to turn off your 360, if they overheat they'll RRoD.
