Am I just a sick person or do you guys like doing this too? I had somebody send me hate email about my blog (I have a knitting blog. How exciting can that be?) So, I sent back an email correcting his grammar, and gave him examples on how to be a better troll. I even gave him pointers on how to write better death threats. He hasn't replied.

Uhm.. the poll doesn't have any options.
I would if I could, but I'm not really very good at it. I do what I can.

cool poll bro

i tend to ignore trolls, just like i ignore everyone else. i also love to never use capital letters, because it pisses people off.

Some how I doubt that's something that could ever be done successfully, really, how would you tell whether they're throwing rude insults because they are continuing to attempt to troll or if they're actually angry at you?

Although I suppose it is fun to have an argument in which you will accomplish nothing every once in a while, and a troll is going to purposely give bad arguments so you could just argue to make yourself feel much more smart and clever than you actually are... =P

Then there's also the issue of trying to tell whether it's really someone just saying something stupid or rude or if they're just trolling...

He probably has not replied because he hates your blog, that`s the only thing he is trying to say. He probably just does not want to take the time to reply to you.

I mess with everyone I can. Being an ass amuses me.

But the trolls that just troll by saying controversial things sadden me.

Trolls seem to get off on any attention they get. So I typically swear at my monitor then proceed to ignore them.

So I don't really mess with them.

I make it my personal policy not to feed the Trolls, it only encourages them

Well, the person said that my blog was gibberish and boring. He wished that he could have something hit him on the head to forget and that if he wished he could kills the whimsy that is me. Let's just say I had fun with it. I replied,

"Dear Sir,

From what I gathered from your long message is that you are angry and upset, and quite possibly have a learning disability. I just want to say that my heart sincerely goes out to you. First and for most, I want to tell you that your message has no structure and if you want to get your point across you might want to address that issue. The more structured the message, the clearer the message will be.

If you don't mind, I would like to help you be a better troll. What I would do if I were you would start off by making an outline. It doesn't have to be too detailed but start off with your main topic. I gather you want to kill me. What a wonderful and board topic!

Now, the first paragraph should be why. Once you have listed the why, list supporting arguments. Remember to refrain from using fallacies and begging the question. You want the supporting argument as tight as your mom's asshole.

Next what I would list is the how. Now, I from what I read, the how is very impersonal. I simply do not feel that you truly want to kill me. How you can make it more personal is to use my personal fears. As a very neurotic person, I have quite a few. Why don't you try playing off my fear of drowning or being burned alive? I am also afraid of chainsaws, trains, clowns, eighteen wheelers, mannequins, elevators, chimpanzees, and mimes.

I hope that this email will help you out and you will write me back soon. I look forward to it.

Sincerely, Sunny."

But it's so much fun!
Well, when they put up a fight, it is. They're the only ones worth it, when they look like they're going to keep going. Then it's like a game!

By messing with a troll, you turn yourself into a troll trolling a troll! And yes messing with trolls is fun, esp when you reverse their sad attempt at trolling and in fact start trolling them back with great success.
