Do you think Homefront will live up to it's hype?
Or will it just fade away into the crap game cupboard just like "Haze" did?

Personally from what i have seen of it so far I think it looks good. It has an interesting storyline, the graphics look good and it even has a special edition (no idea whats extra but its £5 cheaper than the normal edition on PC)

Heres a trailer for those of you living in caves who have never heard of homefront

I don't care much for the SP 'cause I ain't American. But if they manage to pull of the MP then it will be a very good game.

Yes, any game that gets a dedicated PC team gets a second look from me. From what I have read the single player campaign could be good, it really could be. I can suspend disbelief to accept an invasion of North America by a resurgent Korea. Sure, why not? If you can play Mass Effect you can play Homefront, they are both speculative fiction after all. Having John Milius on board means the game won't be particularly subtle (have you seen Red Dawn and Apocalypse Now?), but I go into the game expecting that.

From what I've read about multi-player it is not that different from any other FPS. It is set during the invasion part of the back story so will just be soldier v soldier. That whole objectives for those doing well sounds pretty good and I'm sure other MP FPS games will adapt it.

It depends on how important the story is to the game. They've made a big fuss of it, and claiming it to be plausible is rather painful.

On the other hand, if the actual game is about shooting people, and there's just the odd US or Korean flag around, then it stands or falls on its gameplay.

Apart from a painfully thin pretence of plausibility, the game actually looks pretty generic.

They should have had the Korean forces riding oriental style dragons, and the US resistance being led by Bigfoot. Who is a ninja, and used to be dating the Loch Ness monster, but the long distance relationship didn't work out.

I'd be interested in that.

I recon it will be good, at least hope it will. The devs are the same guys that made Frontlines: Fuel Of War and I thought that that one went down a bit before its time, so hopefully this will have a few of the best parts of that in this.

I think it will have the same CoD type single player but set in good'ole USA. Thats not really bad or anything, since it will be a lot of fun, but it just won't be original. I have no doubt the story part of the game will be good, just game play it will be the same. While muiltplayer will be great as long as theres people who buy th game to keep it alive. So its a maybe but I am picking it up.

The storyline is dumb, completely implausible, and simply impossible. And since story is everything for me in a game I think I'm going to pass on this.

i don't like multiplayer, so it'd need to stand up on it's single player, and since it's got a really stupid plot then no.

I'm just curious, the US gets invaded, Canada sits and watches? I find this amusing.

It'll be alright, not groundbreaking. A good game but nothing special.
Hell yes we would. We are like the little kid who watches their big brother beat up some nerd. Good fun. :)

The story has enough plot holes to sink the entire US navy.

I think it'll be decent.
But to be successful, it's going to have to get some very good reviews, because not many people will be willing to pre-order a brand new possible franchise-starter.

No, I remember it being advertised as something different, however when i watched a recent interview/preview they kept talking about similar and familiar, not to mention the average looking gameplay.

It has the potential to be mindblowing, ranging in all sorts of moral and political issues.

I'm pretty sure tho it will end up as "modern warfare with a twist", but hey I'd love to be wrong.

Well, if it's good, it'll be a fun Freedom Fighers [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_Fighters_(video_game)] kinda story.

If it's bad it could be the po-faced MW2 kinda story.

Depends on how far tongue in entrenched in cheek really. If it plays like an action film from the eighties I could see myself enjoying it.

From the previews i have seen, it looks pretty decent. I even like the idea of america being occupied. I dont like multiplayer so it better have a really good single player. My fingers are crossed for this game.

I love how everyone's saying the storyline is totally unrealistic. Who cares if the pretense is a bit rubbish, if Homefront can pull it off well who the hell damn cares

I for one am looking forward to it.
