Used search bar and my topic is different to all the other iPad threads.
I, like alot of Escapists, tend to dislike things that are popular simply because they are popular. It's not so much that I hate Macs, I just hate that other people love them. Modern Warfare and Halo don't actually suck. We juat say that they do to counter balance the overpowering "OMFG PWND FGT LOL N00B!" on other sites and XBL.
So, like I'm sure many others, I was expecting the iPad to be a wild success just like the iPhone, iPod touch etc. and it annoyed me. I didn't do any research into the iPad because I knew I wouldn't get one as they would be over priced and have few uses, of which one would probably apply to me, surfing the internet. I needn't tell you that I wasn't surprised to find other people who shared my feelings of apathy toward the iPad as well as those who abhorred it.
What I did not expect was the flop it seems to be. Yeah, it's in the news. Yeah, there's adverts all over the place. Yeah, everyone's talking about it. But I've never seen one. I've never met someone who had one. Never even met someone who wants one.
So the question is; do you know anyone at all, including yourself, who owns an iPad?
Few quick notes:
The reason that I only had yes is to get a numeric of how many people actually do know someone with an iPad. It also allows you to come back in a week or so if your annoying, trendy brother buys one and vote yes.
I know they suck, you don't need to tell me.
Just discuss how many people have them etc. not how shitty they are. Please.
