So, there you go. This poll was brought forward out of a discussion I was having a while back on a poll about pronunciation and since poor spelling online is often a hot topic in the literary world, I was wondering what the Escapist community's thoughts were on the subject. Personally, although I feel good spelling makes your post look more professional, I like the way that chat shorthand has developed in way that shows the dynamic nature of language in order to make it more efficient and thereby shaping it into new forms (i.e. lol, sup, irl).
Some mistakes like saying "it's definition" instead of "its definition" can't be explained away like that though and I'm kind of disappointed when I see that those kind of things don't come naturally to some people.
So fellow Escapist users, what are your thoughts on this?
Note: This is only about spelling mind. This subject isn't even as broad as whether or not paragraphs are used, let alone what style is being applied.
Edit: it's supposed to be "not using your punctuation correctly"; I just knew something ironic like this would come back to bite me [ooh, didn't know I could change that]. >.>
(Yay, first poll.)
