Poll: Dues Ex question: Which should I play first?

I got Deus Ex, Game of The Year edition as well as Human Revolution on Steam. I haven't played either yet, and was hoping that I could jump right into playing both of them. Here's the thing: should I play the original first, or Human Revolution?
If I play the original I might end up so bored of the Deus Ex formula after playing it for hours that I won't feel like going through the Human Revolution campaign.
On the other hand, would Human Revolution really be the same without knowing what its roots are?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

(By the way, I wasn't sure what board this should be under, so please don't hesitate to tell me to switch.)

Well Human revolution is a prequel, a rather disconnected prequel though so it really doesn't matter. I know that i personally can't go back and play Deus Ex, it's a VERY good game but for me at least hasn't aged well. If that doesn't bother you though i'd recommend Deus Ex GOTY, if only so that you can experience the years of hype building up to HR in the few minutes between you beating DE and starting HR.
