I have a bit of an obsession with having clean hands, so I always try to eat food using cutlery when I can. I eat pizza with a knife and fork and even eat nachos with a pair of forks. As a result of this, popcorn is my worst enemy.

Also I always eat my favourite item of food in a meal last and my least favourite item first.

So does anyone else have any weird little eating habits like mine?

I use cutlery whenever I can too, since I'm a huge manga fan and am terrified of the manga getting dirty.

Also, I usually watch something fun on the computer when I'm eating, and I have very specific rules concerning what food is eaten with what show:

* When I watch Lucky Star, I eat burritos.
* Whenever I eat spaghetti and meatballs, I watch Atop the 4th wall.
* JesuOtaku's anime reviews are what I watch when I eat bacon sandwiches.
* I eat a ham-and-cheese pizza when I watch Cheers.
* When I watch The Big Bang Theory, I eat a tex-mex pizza.

I apparently eat weird because I have my fork in my right hand and knife in my left stab it cut it and just eat it. I have been told this is wrong an American and bad manners you are supposed to cut with your dominate hand put the knife down the re-stab it with your for and eat because that is how correct Americans with manners eat... or something.

Also mashed potatoes often have no gravy for me but rather they contain bits of my main dish. Also lemon grass straws are awesome for tea and making people thing you are ethnic and intriguing.

oh yeah and favorite food last, I mean that is just obvious to me and you only chug beverages you hate.

I do this all the time as well, comedies tend to go well with a nice meal. It didn't really work out all that well when I tried to eat while watching Hannibal though.

I will usually eat my favourite food last, but if it's something like steak and chips, I'll eat the steak and nibble on the chips all the way through.

I sort of get this as well, although I tend not to bother so much about it. I hate having greasy hands though, so I tend to avoid crisps if I can't wash my hands immediately after. I'm actually much more fussy about getting it on my face, I used to be fairly spotty so I developed a bit of a thing about keeping my face clean.

My weirdest eating habits are probably eating carrots raw (I'm not going to bother peeling them either) and eating frozen peas straight out of the freezer. Both come from having no food in the house, but they're actually pretty tasty, much more than if you cooked them.

I practically always leave the best food 'til last.

I also have an obsession with clean hands but that just means I wash them a lot.

I do tend to eat my favourite food last, and I have to wash my hands before eating, I don't really consider washing my hands before a meal to be an eccentric habit though.

Not quite like that, but my meal eating is eccentric. A meal should be made up out of; main protein thing (Fish/meat), side thing (chips, rice, pasta ect.) and healthy stuff (vegetables).
I will eat the healthy thing with the meat first (to get them out of the way), finish of the main thing, then hover through the side dish after all that has gone.

I do the same, I hate cooked vegetables, they're all mushy and gross.

I can't stand mushy food or food touching each other. I swallow a lot of my food whole (though cut into reasonable pieces). I'm never hungry, but I have a near insatiable thirst. I sometimes "snack" on pure salt and view regular eating as a chore that I often forget to do.

That is not just an American thing, the correct etiquette for eating is the one that makes fuck all sense.

Also, why do Americans always call it "mashed potatoes"? Why we English just shorten it to "mash", so much easier.

My weird thing is, I put burgers upside down on my plate. When I pick up a burger my thumbs are on top, with fingers underneath ... so if the burger is the right way up on the plate, the seeds are on the bottom when it goes it my gob.

And picking up a right side up burger and putting it in the right side up is just awkward.

I dunno if I have any weird habits. I find that other people who take a bite from each part of their meal in a sequence instead of focusing on one aspect of the food until complete and THEN moving on...to be the weird ones. People who do that are confusing their sense of taste.

I eat food in the order of how it tastes as it gets colder/warmer. Greens get bad if the temperature drops even a little so I eat them first for example. If that do not apply I do a 50/50 best and worst or easiest to eat.

cutlery I use when needed. So I eat pizza with my hands and mashed potatoes with cutlery. I guess that's normal.

I just eat willy nilly. I sometimes piles things on my fork and nom (cut some chicken off, put a chip on top of it and stab he fork through both of them and eat it)
I take my Jaffa cakes apart, usually nibble around the edges, eat off the chocolate, lick the orange thing for a bit, eat the cake then suck on the orange thing until it shrinks and eat it. Usually results in very sticky fingers.

Also salad cream on EVERYTHING.

Yesssssss, I do this too! Glad I'm not the only one. :3

Sometimes I'll put the orangey bits on a plate and save them til the end.

OT: I separate my snacks into colour groups (It's a lot harder to do that with meals).

I also blow on everything I eat, even ice cream. I think that's more just from being told to cool my food first a lot as a child, and I just do it out of habit now.

Maybe eating salt is why you have an insatiable thirst.

If there is something I absolutely hate on my plate and it would be rude of me not to eat it, I'll finish it first. Otherwise, I rotate through the different foods on my plate completely randomly. No weird quirks over here.

I do that with my skittles, I put them in a little rainbow. Same with my starbursts, mainly to give the purple ones away because they're nastaaay.

I pretty much eat my vegetable first then the rest of the meal (well except for vegatable like pea and corn).

Yes I didn't like my veggie as a kid but I once I read this fortune cookie saying something about dealing with the problem first and enjoyed the rest afterward since it's in the past now, I adopted that saying as a way to deal with my meals.

I eat the veggie first and once it's all gone, I can eat the rest of the meal without dealing the vegatable for it's now in the past.
