Which scientist do you think has had more of an impact on today, as far as electronics go, Nicola Tesla or Thomas Edison. If you don't know who Nicola Tesla is, leave this page and look him up he was awesome.

Obviously the answer is Steve Jobs... or Call of Duty Black Ops.

Most people here read Cracked, so I predict Tesla winning by an absolute landslide, even if he (probably) deserves it.

Considering Tesla came up with the idea of using alternating current, which is far superior to Edison's championed direct current methods, then Tesla wins out on power generation at least.

As for other electronics - well, it's pretty common knowledge that most of Edison's ideas were borrowed, copied or outright stolen from other inventors. However, Tesla dealt in technologies that haven't been explored that much yet, such as wireless power transmission. I would have to say Tesla for supporting AC, although obviously Edison had an important role in bringing electricity into every day life by his dogged promotion of his electrical products.

Haha! I read about Tesla in the book '5 good reasons to punch a dolphin in the mouth', a book from the guy who does The Oatmeal comics online! He seems to obsess over the guy!

Seems legitimately awesome, although I will only remember his name as an association to Red Alert...!

Hell yeah, that man is like a God. No, wait. GOD doesn't even begin to properly describe the f**kin' dark ages he brought us out of.
WE NEED A NEW WORD, STAT.

OT: I love that crazy man, Tesla. He's awesome. He's right underneath Da Vinci in my book. (Although, Tesla's more than likely contributed more to modern society)

Why is this even a question? Nicola Tesla is the man. If it wasn't for Tesla, that computer you're sitting on would have to be mechanical or work on coal or something. Tesla created lightning, without him Edison would have been flying his kite aimlessly until he collapsed from exhaustion. Tesla also created static electricity just because he could.

That's him chilling out.

And that's a photo of him in the process of making toast.

When the Nazis launched WW2 by invading France with their mechs and terminators, it was Tesla who laughed and single handedly kicked them right back to Berlin where he turned them into Volkswagens. And in 1943, he went back in time to give humanity the gift of fire and the pyramids.

Edison is nothing compared to Tesla.
