Poll: Epic or personal stories

Do you prefer epic stories on a grandscale where the characters, although sometimes fleshed out, are usually just involved with whats going on? Or do you prefer smallscale stories (relative to the previous option) where interaction between characters is what ultimately pushes the story along?

EDIT: I shall ammend the question. If you had choose between epic and personal and not something that contains equal amounts of both.

It depends on the setting and characters for me.
I'm pretty comfortable with both, so it is all on how well the story is executed.

Why can't I have both? Mass Effect is epic but centers around character interaction.

Do you mean in real life or in fiction?

Cause in real life, I like personal stories that are epic in the regard that it actually happened.

But in stories I like something of Epic moments in a tight story. Or at least one where its not constantly out of proportion events.

What about an epic personal story?

Very much this, Planescape: Torment is very definitely both. In fact, I don't think a story can get more personal.

Honestly, though? In games or books (don't watch anything on TV), I'm quite fond of either, as long as it's good.

Probably Epic. Cos it's epic. Plus I like a good long read.
