Poll: Ever eaten paste?

By paste I mean that white glue, mostly used by kids. If you have eaten it, what drove you to try. If you haven't, what put you off. Also specify what age you ate/thought about eating paste.

Edit: I'm pretty sure I put Poll Options, the question was "Have you ever eaten paste" with answers "yes" and "no", otherwise it wouldn't have automatically put "Poll: " in my topic title. Oh well.

You know, you hear about the 'kid eating paste' joke a lot in movies, t.v. shows, and what-not, but not only have I never personally consumed paste, I've never seen a child do it either. It's not food, and really it smells disgusting.

I've seen a child eat paper before because he thought he was going to get in trouble because of what was on it. He tore it up, stuffed it into his mouth and chewed like a beast before the teacher could grab it. It was probably one of the funniest things I've ever seen. But I've never seen a child eat paste, 'just because'.

That. Also, I never really saw that there were any benefits that could be brought about by paste consumption. If anything it seemed that it would be hazardous.

Nope, but as a kid I have licked sand off my hands to get it off and eaten sponges.

When I was six and just started Kindergarten, my fingers once got stuck to a glue bottle. I didn't want my skin to peel off, so I tried licking the glue that stuck my fingers to the cap. It worked surprisingly well. My teacher gave me a time-out when she saw me and my parents gave me the hour long lecture on how it'll stick to my insides, so I've never done it since.

I still don't see what the big deal was. It said "Safe, Non-Toxic" on the bottle.

I did'nt do it as a kid but i did last week for 10 bucks had to eat a hole jar it was not fun. But the 10 dollars did give me enough to buy dawn of war 2 retribution so it was worth it.

I've never eaten paste, but me and my friends had a fun past-time.
We'd smear paste thinly on our hands, wait for it to dry, then peel it off.
It was fun in a popping bubble wrap kinda way, and it felt funny.
