Yeah, there probably has been a poll like this before - but i haven't seen it. A friend of mine recently got me to play Table-top D&D, so i ask you: Which race do you prefer?

I know this poll is mostly between Human, Elf and Dwarf, but i added what others i could think of. If yours isn't on the list please specify.

Depends on the system, due to variations in mechanics and flavor.

I'm generally a fan of Dark Elves and Dwarves, though.

But yeah, mine would usually be the darker kind of race, something undead or like a dark elf. I don't know why, I'm not an evil-loving person...

Elf. The immortal (or nearly so) High Elf variety, with civilization far superior to anything else in the world, its craftsmen, artists, warriors and mages the epitome of skill honed by millenia of devoted study. Also, they tend to have pet dragons. And Phoenixes.

SLIME!!! or a jelly as some might call it... favourite fantasy race... of course... no games will let me play as one that i can find so i feel very left out... other than that probably anything relatively powerful and undead... or like a human... or a dwarf(cuz they always have damn good blacksmithing skills lore-wise...and i don't like flimsy weapons/armour)

*spent most of his latter days of DWM and DWIII hunting down metalies and metababbles for breeding in resistance and EXP farming, respectively*

Dwarves. Their fortresses and mines and underground halls give me a big architectural stiffy. Gnomes are pretty cool too.

In Baldur's Gate you could shapeshift into ooze (I think it was mustard jelly to be exact).

OT I do enjoy dwarves however the best race/creature I ever roleplayed was the improbable Algae Monster

Neither have I, I can't believe it, honestly.

I always like the Nord-type guys. You know, the race that happens to look, dress, and act like a mix of Scottish-Scandinavians. They are resistant to cold and look great with a Claymore in their hands. War paint too, lots of war paint.

Zim. The Nightmare Begins. Nice.

On Topic: I like dark elves generally. Especially when they are Gods with one fatal weakness. Like when they are undefeatable, in their own realm or similar.
