Now, favorite Free MMO, well, Atlantis Online was really, like, really damn fun. So, was Perfect World.

And FREE MMOs ain't really FREE with their "pay-to-play" micro transaction system, specially in the context of competitive games. You either pay to be able to compete with others, to pay with your time to get gear you won't even be able to maintain (repair points), unless you grind some more for the money needed.

Online cRPG, finally, someone got it right. I would give you a physical hug, but I guess we can settle with the e-hug for now.

Made a typo in my comment, I meant to say, Guild Wars 2 might meet the criteria as a MMORPG with it's mix of instancing and persistent areas (as in, areas where all the players can meet, not just those 3D Hubs that towns were).

i have never even heard of something that even smelled like a good free mmo. most mmos suck because they are free (everquest did even when it was a PtP.) MMOs are PtP for a Reason. because else they suck. you might as well say the atari 2600 was a success.

Because the damn game was completely instanced. That's why it's not an mmo. Not to mention, the developers themselves called it an Online cRPG. Think of it, as playing on a dedicated diablo server except the only players you can see in the game world, are those in your party.

dont play MMO games anymore because they feel like work after a few ours. I did play fiesta for a while and to me it sucked bad, even worse than other MMO games(I only played it because my little brother was constantly bragging about how fun it was-_-).

Runescape because despite its flaws it has a certain charm that keeps drawing me back to play some more and im gonna play it again when ive finished typing this!
overall its a fun game that has some pretty awesome quests, occasionally funny and witty characters and a whole heap of other stuff to keep you busy.

i played this back when it was 2D on my windows 98 craptop, then when it was 3D too. for free it can't be beat, although i haven't played it in 3 or 4 years... i prefer FPS now
