Mario has become such a transformative franchise that he has been in every genre so just to list it what is your favorite Spin Off Mario game?

EDITED:

You could mention games like Super Princess Peach, or Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars, certain Sports games like Tennis, and the Mario Party games. If only this site gives me more options than 8.

Also Yoshi games refers to the series of games that truly began with Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island because of how different the games are since you control only Yoshi, according to the Wikia this is the list of games in the "Yoshi Series"

Main: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (1995, SNES) ? Yoshi's Story (1997, N64) ? Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 (2002, GBA) ? Yoshi's Island DS (2006, DS) ? Yoshi's New Island (2014, 3DS) ? Yoshi's Woolly World (2015, Wii U)

And 2 others that are mostly spin offs: Yoshi Topsy-Turvy and Touch & Go.

Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga is so much fun. The combat is so good, and I think it is a good evolution of the turn based JRPG combat system. Would be cool to see something like that in a Final Fantasy (along with Legend of Dragoon's addition system!)

Is it unfortunate to say that Superstar Saga is the only good one of the Mario and Luigi games?

How do you rank the later games?

Bowser Inside Story I heard was really good?

Bowser's inside story is one of the better ones.

Wario Land series. Playing as Wario is fun, messing a bit with the gameplay formula is fun, and not saving the princess but just being greedy is fun.

Shit now you remind of Wario games time to remove the "other" out of the list. Though people can still metion them.

I thought this would be easy, I voted for Mario Kart but I forgot how much I loved the Yoshi games

Also is Mario Party on the list? It should be, they really are an achievement because of what perfect party games they are, and how they can be just as entertaining if I am playing with ten year olds or thirty year olds

I can't really say. Mario Tennis, Mario Party, Paper Mario, and Mario Kart have all really given me a lot of enjoyment over the years, and I can't really say one has offered more entertainment than the other.

In Other Games I wish this site gives me more than 8 options.

I really don't consider Donkey Kong Country to be Mario games, hence why not voting for them even if some are greater. My vote goes to the Mario & Luigi series, I love these RPGs that are turn-based but they are way more active, the series also has memorable characters and a great tone and its battle system is the third-best I've ever played, behind Live a Live and Chrono Trigger.

After playing Welcome to the Game and Quadrilateral Cowboy, I want Nintendo to make a sequel to Mario Teaches Typing: it should be called Super Mario DOS, hack your way through cyberspace while learning how to type, it'd be awesome.

I do so choose to mention Seven Stars, because that game was amazing! It and FF6 basically defined my RPG experience growing up.

Amazing, quirky and very funny.

I unfortunately have not played the rest of the series. I read reviews and they seemed to be pretty good continuations.

When it comes to Mario Spin-off games, I've probably spent more time with the Smash games which feature a wide cast of Mario regulars though I guess they're not technically a Super Mario spin-off series. I like the Mario & Luigi games but the two that I played from beginning to end had this effect on me whereby once I got to a certain point about 3/4 of the way in, they games got less enjoyable. Dream Team really annoyed me at times but Paper Jam was pretty great throughout.

Mario v Donkey Kong is a puzzler series that I kinda like in small doses but can't really get into...same with Mario Kart (replace 'puzzler' with 'arcade racer' of course). Mario Kart 7 and 8 are currently my favorites and while I'm really curious about MK-DS I'm not curious enough to have picked the thing up yet.

Yoshi's Wooley World freaking floored me unlike any other Yoshi game but I haven't completed a quarter of it...presumably. It's charming as Hell but my OCD and the difficulty I'm having finding all of the collectibles it bothering me which is backhanded praise.

I have issues with all of the spin-offs so I can't really chose one for the poll...Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2 are probably my favorite though if those count. I loved DKC-Returns too.

I heard people say they hate the Yoshi series' "invisible until you touch' em" collectibles, that was never a problem to me as they always would give a hint on where it would be and Wooly World has a lot of graphical details to help further, but the 3DS version definitely added that new power-up with that in mind, as in, for a two dimensional plane, exploring it is a bit unreasonable...

Well, I've played most of them, but I can safely say if you enjoy Superstar Saga, you'll enjoy them all.
Partners in Time made great use of all of the buttons to a combat that surprisingly works.
Bowser's Inside Story has the best humor and characters, as well as using Bowser in the same type of combat almost seamlessly.
Dream Team was the Luigi-centric game, where many great things returned, but it has the worst barrage of tutorials in the series, a sequence of 6 unskipable ones, if you get behind the slow start, the game gets really good.
Paper Jam, I haven't played it yet, but I heard great things about (like the skippable tutorials) in how they use the three main characters and the game is as fun as the previous ones.

Mario Kart Double Dash IS my favourite Mario game.

They really went down hill IMO. My younger sister loves these games, but I've kind of grown to hate them. Maybe it's because I've played them too much, but so much of them are now way to reliant on luck. Not only that, they've changed the way you move around the board. Everyone travels in the same car thing and just takes turns being the driver.

Why is Donkey Kong Country listed as a Mario spinoff? Mario doesn't have anything to do with those games. At all. Donkey Kong and Mario seem to occupy completely separate universes.

Is it because of the original Donkey Kong arcade cabinet? That just seems wrong. If we're going by that, it seems more accurate to say that Mario games are all spinoffs from the Donkey Kong franchise.

I don't think that's true. I liked Superstar Saga well enough, but Partners in Time was just kind of lame. Even aside from the drawback of being dumb babies, past Mario and Luigi brought absolutely nothing to the table and the way the game controlled was functionally identical to the first game.

It's a tough one for me because I like games from most of these series but I also either dislike or haven't played other games within the same series. I love Yoshi's Island but didn't like Woolly World or the 3DS one. I love Mario Kart 64 but never really got into any of the other ones. Wario Land 2 is great, 4 is good, never got into 1 or 3. The Wario Ware games are a bit hit or miss. I love Donkey Kong '94 and Mario vs Donkey Kong but March of the Minis was kind of shit.

I'll probably give my vote to Wario because of nostalgia.
