Search Bar approved. Previous similar thread is thoroughly dead.

My favourite game developer is Bethesda. Though I haven't played a handful of their games, of those I have played, I have been very impressed with. I personally think they make great, fun, games.

But which is your favourite game developer? If you make a text response, please also indicate why, or give an example of one of their games you liked.

Thanks, and enjoy. And please don't flame.

I'll vote Valve. But I also like Bioware and DoubleFine a lot.

Of that list Valve, mainly because they do actually listen to their players and generally make good when they bugger up.
They're by no means perfect, but they come across as people who play games.

Although really it's Turbine. They're the kings of community involvement and Dick Dastardly style tricks.

Also CCCP for their extreme bravery in letting the EVE community largely moderate itself. I can't see any other MMO allowing so few rules.

It's hard to choose, as I like alot of games and they all come from different developers.

I narrowed it down to three developers, valve, bethesda and bioware.

Valve: made half life 2 = good. But, messed everybody around with the "will they won't they" of episode three. so, you're out.

Bethesda: Fallout 3 = fantastic. Oblivion = snorefest (imo) so, also out.

Bioware: kotor, baldurs gate, mass effect, jade empire, I really can't think of any of their rpgs I didn't enjoy. so, congrats, bioware, you win!

Valve, definetly. They add fan-suggested things to TF2 by "sure, why not?" principle! 'Nuff said, really.

Insomniac are also pretty high on my list - how can you not like them? They make games where you can turn your enemies into penguins and make them dance involuntarily to disco tunes, for heaven's sake!

The reason I've become a real gamer of course: Square. Their pre-3D games were brilliance.

My favorites as follows:

Valve: They actually give two shits about their community and they actually make great games.
Blizzard: Do I really need to say why? Although their merger with Activision kinda hurt their rep.
Bioware: The only RPG that they've ever made that wasn't amazing was Sonic Chronicles, and even that was pretty decent.
Infinity Ward: One of the best shooter developers ever. Now, if/when they move on from Call Of Duty they'll be even better.
Bungie: Halo's awesome, and I don't care what anyone else has to say. :p
Square Enix: Has taken a hit in recent years, but is still a solid developer.
Nintendo: The Wii is kind of... eh... But Nintendo still knows how to make games, as proven by the DS as well as Super Mario Galaxy.
Ensemble: RIP. Age is the best RTS series ever (Especially Age of Mythology).
Harmonix: They actually put CARE into making their rhythm games, whereas Activision and Neversoft just care about milking the playerbase.

Other: Bungie. I really enjoyed all the Halo games. And Bungie recognizes how important their fanbase is and they make a point of keeping them happy whenever possible. They make a point of giving attention to standouts within the community that surrounds their games. I think that's an excellent way to run a business and I admire their efforts to keep the players engaged in the worlds they create; both in game and beyond.
