pretty much any Sonic game before it went 3D. the first 2 were great and there were a few other ones along the same style but (like the Mario games) the 3D games weren't as good.
Honestly, I kinda liked Sonic-3D. I thought that one wasn't terrible, even if it had that horrible intro screen. The isometrics were well done, and sonic still had free reign and it still felt fairly fast paced, plus tons of hidden stuff.
I also LOOOOVED Sonic Spinball, that one I still play a bit.
But yeah, I think I'm going to have to go 3+Knuckles, one of those cases of SEGA thinking way too ahead of their time. It was so neat how they made that work, especially the first time you bash through those blocks that Sonic always had to stop at. Something about that always got me. Plus I didn't have to figure out that stupid spinning block thing.
Oh yeah, if you had the 32-X, even though it'll probably be crap now, I remember having fun with the Knuckles and weird animal friends game. Frickin Bee and an alligator and whatever, I dunno what was going on there but I liked it. Then.
