This poll is to quench my curiosity of "How many 720p/1080i TV's are used on 720p?"[footnote] Other options included too as not not let people feel left out.[/footnote]. I ask this question as not too long ago I found out gaming looks better on 720p after assuming that the bigger the number, the better; and wondered how many others had assumed this too.
Basically, it all comes down to personal preference; but for optimal visuals for your use of the TV, consider this:
720p(progressive scan) is much better at delivering sharp HD imagery for motion picture. This could be general gameplay to looking at TV. It's progressively scanning the video stream to keep up with the rapidly changing pixels.
1080i (interlaced video) is a greater resolution, but is actually up-scaled 720p. 1080i takes two quick snaps at the video and the projects the contrasted image back onto the screen. It's much crisper than 720p, but is also much less-sharp when the video is changing rapidly (gameplay/action movies).
So, for the comments: Expand on your answer to the poll; and will you change your mind after reading this thread?
