My computer has a problem with downloading and installing, and besides, I'm not allowed to. A couple of years ago I was satisfied with single-player games such as Frost Bite, but now I feel a need for fantasy MMOs. These are the things I am looking for:
-No downloads or installations
-Shows and allows you to customise chars*
-No modern things
-Races to choose from and classes
-Is partly free and has the option to choose for payment (entirely free games are suckers)
-Combat magic, ranging, etc., and different weaponry
-One char per acc, username as char name
Please give suggestions and recommendations.
*You need to be able to see them and control them. Not those lame games where you can't see your character and just click on buttons to control them.

No, but I'm not big into MMO's anymore. I used to love Star Wars Galaxies, but found that it lacked in certain areas, and I just didn't have the time to commit to it.

There is another thing that is pretty much WoW in flash version. It's called Aurora Blade or something like that. I couldn't stand it, but maybe you can.

Maybe Guildwars? You have to buy the disk but it doesn't have any fees. Not sure if it has everything you want though.

i would suggest silk road or rohan, they both require down loads but there good and free. If you wnat a high quality but free MMO those are the ones to use.

That one gives you a virus just so you know. I played it on both of my comps and they got a virus two minutes after I opened the site. Both of them. Same screen, same amount of time.

You know, I actually LIKED Tabula Rasa. There's a complete lack in player-interaction but it was new/refreshing. You should at least TRY the demo.

I played it a while ago and haven't had anything happen. Are you sure it was that, cuz I'm pretty sure it was safe.

He wanted Fantasy, remember? Not Sci-Fi, plus I think they went free recently because not enough people were willing to pay for it.

Anyway, the fact is, you won't find anything but Runescape to meet your demands. All the other good fantasy MMO's require payment.

I quite liked runescape for a while but then it just sort of died a slow and painful death for me. I had no idea of what to do, where i was going, the graphics were just as bad in high def as they were in low and I just didn't find it fun after a while.

Oh, my bad I apologize, yeah runescape would be the only thing that could meet your wishes. Unless you wanted to pay a single fee of 50$ you could do Guild Wars, which is nice.

Only thing that I could suggest that comes relatively close is Guild Wars, it may be entirely free, but it's actually of a pretty high standard, and I found Nightfall to have quite the immersive storyline.
Guild Wars allows you to customise characters, nothing modern, lets you choose class, Guild Wars 2 will let you choose race, does the whole combat magic and ranging thing quite well, classes dedicated to both, although you can of course go hybrid, but it does do the whole download/installation and gives you up to 8 characters per account, depending on how many campaigns you own.

Being that picky really limits you in terms of this sort of thing, Guild Wars is the closest thing that I can think of that fulfils a good few of your criteria.
