obviously theirs lots of variation like in halo which has the swords or in battlefield which leaves it out after you use it; so i simplified basically to ask: how powerful should melee attacks be? (in fps games)
in killzone 3, if you try it to much or near too many players or something, you are bound to get shot the instant the eye gouging animation stops. in call of duty modern warfare 2 you start with a fast knife move and can use perks to make it your primary attack. in halo you can get melee weapons that will make you lunge forward and always kill instantly from behind.
and what do you think this says about the 'realism' because, clearly neither "infinite sprint" and bringing a knife to a gun fight are realistic, but frankly neither is using your thumbs to crack a a gas mask and kill someone, really, it would suck to lose your eyes but it would not be lethal.
my personal favorite was in the new medal of honor, it was faster then counter strike or killzone but slower then cod and not very accurate, who did it best so far and what could be done to make it better?
