Follows is game informer's list of the 'Top 200 games of all time' which, being the nit-picky asshole that I am, doesn't include such awesomeness as pinochle or the the very sensual twister. Alas, as far as video games go, I think that they've picked from a decent pool, yet any list (in my opinion) that puts Starcraft, Final Fantasy Tactics, Half-Life, and Chrono-Trigger AFTER WoW, needs to be shook until all the wasted time falls out, like a child.

I vote for you to kill yourself, but this list is interesting.

It's too marred by it's adherence to tradition over innovation. Tomb Raider II was a vastly superior game to Tomb Raider I, and while the influence of the female heroine came from the first one, that isn't enough to justify putting it on the list instead of or above Tomb Raider II.

Also, having FFXII on the list is just wrong.

Meh, list seems pretty ok to me, though I have a headache atm so I Just skimmed through the list. And what the hell is wrong with the OP? I don't think any MMO's deserve to be in that list for the kind of game that it is.

So, this list is the best games...ever? Do they mean by nostalgic means or by innovation and, well looking good? It seems a bit longing for the past by putting the top 2 as NES then the third being Tetris. Well, its all opinions i guess....

I agree with the list, but why is this necessary? Twenty of these damn things come out every month.

Portal, 100?

Seriously?

Seriously?!

The Sims did better than Portal?!

(Also, has any one noticed "The Elder Scrols IV, Oblivious" in there?)

Here's what I don't understand: I didn't play those old ass games at the top of the list when I was a kid, and I don't play them now. I went on my 360 and played MW2: amazing graphics, furious gameplay, and ultimatly an example of how far gaming has come. Then I went and played a game of Tetris online. Didn't compare. Are these critics just a nostalgic bunch or what?

Bioshock above system shock 2? Oblivion above morrowind? Modern warfware above CoD and CoD2, LoZ:OoT and MGS below WoW? I can certainly say this is far removed from my ideal list and I've not even read it through all yet..

Come back in 20 years time and if MW2 is still one of the most played games in the world, you'll be more than welcome to compare it to the likes of tetris. However, I can already tell you it won't.

49-Guitar Hero
73-Rock Band 2

Bullshit.

Both games were made by Harmonix and RB2 improved on GH in every way possible.

I agree with most of it. Not a WoW fan, but don't feel like getting in an argument with someone who is. Not to mention it did have an impact on the world.
Like everyone else, the actual rankings don't match my taste, but thats fine.

"30 -- The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivious (360/PC, 2006"

Never heard of that one... Perhaps the unknown older brother of Oblivion?

Anyway, I'd say it was pretty hit or miss. Some were dead on, some I felt should not have been on the list, or as high/low as they were.

No I don't agree, what's so good about "Bully" to put it on the top 200?
I also don't think that sports sims (gold football etc) should be in the list, neither should MMO's as people before have said

umm, GTA III should NOT be that high up, it deserves like a mid 100-200 rating.
