Poll: Games series that are over used!

What do you think are some of the most over used game series? Here are some of the biggest brand names i can think of in the poll. But i seriously think there are alot of over used series, Example: WW2 Shooters, I thought COD has really kicked WW2 in the bum right after Modern warfare came out but they just HAD to make another one with the olny addition being a flamethrower and a tank scene which you rarley get to use.

So are crime games: Gta series, Saints row series (Actully i liked saints row 2 but seriously so many people already done crime games but i think they did it best) God father, scarface. AND BLAH BLAH BLAH

Sports games, EA just re releases a new sports game every year with one or 2 improvements, Though NHL 09 Was a big improvment and i liked it so i want ran on it.

Star wars, What were there like 40 in the series. Same with car games, Need for speed and a crap load of others.

Barbie girls games for your children which always inclue something bout horses

AND CRAPPY MOVIE GAMES the developers actully think people give a toss about

WW2 isn't just overused in games, films are as bad. I suppose its nice and tangible. The weapons are fairly straightforward in that planes can't shoot from 120km away as they can now and of course its nice and clear cut good v evil.

Eh movie games. "Almost" every one I have played sucked. There may be a couple exceptions but none come to the top of my head right now.

No. I never liked them, but even if I did, I think that after that many games in 13 years may be over saturation. I liked Guitar Hero, but I would argue they are releasing way too many games at once right now.

This is a thread about games series/genres that you think are overused. In my opinion Dynasty Warriors is an overused series. Just because I don't like a games series does not make my opinion wrong. I dislike the Petz series, eight games in that series have come out in the last three and a bit years, it is my opinion that Ubisoft is overusing that licence. That is not influenced by my opinon of the games themselves, I feel there are just too many of them, I can respect a game whether I like it or not, I don't like boxing, but I respect them for the most part because they don't over saturate and most of them bring something new to the table with every iteration.

i suppose they win a war where its fairly obvious they are the "good guys", vietnam would never work nor would Iraq. I agree with you completely thats why i liked COD4 so much cause it was a brand new setting, and i always though modern/futuristic war made sense cause you have no limiations around authenticity (in terms of guns, outcomes of battles etc.) Plus i always thought its a matter of time before someone releases a truely tasteless WW2 game.
