I enjoy movies more frequently then games but nothing gets me as immersed then a good RPG or a game with great story telling.

Video games have a lot more long term entertainment value, so video games.

I tend to feel very meh about movies a lot more than i do about games, plus even on a short fps campaign there are about 6 or 7 hours of reasonable immersion, compared to 2 in a movie, so games win for being longer, and making me do something that i need to concentrate on

Its not really fair. In a game, you control a character (especially in an RPG) so there is more of an emotional investment in them. Also, a game lasts for many hours whereas a movie is only two or three. These are not things that are easily compared.

Games are longer, have the potential to be more immersive, and you don't have to do them all at once like movies. Also they're much more active. I love them both, but I'd probably give it to games for the above reasons. They're kind of hard to compare, though, because they're quite different.

Why can't we love more than one thing? Why must there always be a choice. I like both equally and until someone starts firing out specific titles to compare that is my final answer.

Right, you do know you're asking this on a gaming website?

I imagine the results will be somewhat biased.

OP: Call me weird, but I actually enjoy movies more than games. I don't know why, and I love games, but a great movie just...does something to me. Makes me very happy.
I'm going to take a hunch here but I think it has to do with the fact movie making has been around a lot longer than video games.

There's a lot more variety to films then there is to games, and there has been a lot more time invested perfecting that art form.

Even though you can argue that a lot of movies suck now, there's sill thousands to choose from that were made in the past, thousands of great movies out there that chances are you still haven't seen.

For instance I only saw Evil Dead about a month ago....lol
