Poll: Glasses-wearing escapists! How do you adjust them when they start slipping?

This talk came about when a glasses-wearing friend of mine asked me "Why do you keep doing that?" The "that" in question being me pushing my glasses up by the bridge with my middle finger all the time cause they keep slipping. And when I said I do it because, well, my glasses are slipping, I get told that it's weird, because "normal" people tend to grab them at the corner and adjust or something.

So it got me thinking, how do people actually fix the position of their glasses when they need to?

Yeah, it's a silly thread but bear with me...or don't.

Careful with using your middle finger to push up your glasses. One very, very overly dramatic teacher took it as me subtly giving her the finger.

I don't often have to adjust my glasses generally, my nose seems to have shaped them perfectly so they don't move that often, but when they do (since the teacher incident) i kind of grab the right side of glasses with two fingers and my thumb and shit them up.

I do that too. Always my right hand and always with my middle finger. I sometimes do the corner thing but usually the bridge.

I usually just bump them up from the bottom of the frame. Maybe push the side of the frame if it doesn't feel right.

I voted "corner", but it's really usually the arm - grab it between thumb and forefinger and lift.

Unless I'm skiing or snowshoeing or something, then I actually use the full back of my gloved hand against the bridge.

Oddest way to push up your glasses I've seen actually was this fellow i used to work with at a bakery. Generally he'd work with flour and such so he'd always push up his glasses with the inside of his wrist so as not to mess up his lenses, looked very strange.

One finger pushing the bridge. Usually it's my right index finger. OK, often it's two fingers - index and middle one together. I've tried one hand and the side but it's just weird - then I still need to fix the glasses, as they tend to get crooked to one side. Two hands and the sides just seems like a lot of wasted motion to me - I've never done it. At most, I use two hands to take the classes off, although I could also do one hand pinching the bridge.

I think initially I did do middle hinger pushups but then I stopped. Nothing really conscious, though, seems easier to have two fingers, then I started using the index one, as I'd also scratch my nose on the way down.

Mine actually almost never slip but if they do I don't see how you could anything other than bridge-pushing.

I'm kind of fifty-fifty with methods here. Sometimes it's a one finger push up the nose, and sometimes (mostly when I'm working on a bike (grease and oil everywhere) or cooking or something) it'll be with my wrist, or I get irritated with how ineffective that second method is and just take them off.

Most times it's the index finger to the bridge, but I have very good control of the muscles around my nose & ears & I can reset my glasses without even touching them. Yes I am a freak & I'm proud of it.

I mix it up. Usually just push them up at the bridge with either my middle finger or middle & index. Sometimes I push both sides up at the same time with my thumb and middle finger, so my hand is across my face.

Eh, it varies. Most of the time I use one hand on the left corner, but sometimes I'll push up the bridge.

My glasses don't tend to slip that much, though. They're pretty well-fitting.

I push on the bridge with my middle finger as well.

I've always mildly wondered if someone is gonna get mad when I do that.

Although, I have tried adjusting them by the edges and the like, but it just feels weird to me. :/

My glasses don't tend to slip much but sometimes they just feel like they aren't sitting right so I normally adjust them at that point by scrunching up my nose. But I voted bridge because when they do slip that's how I fix it.

Who the hell chose lens? That seems like a terrible idea, you'll just end up with marks all over your lenses.

Push up on the bridge, usually with one finger.

Mind you, it very rarely happens. I can even shake my head pretty vigorously without the glasses slipping.

Most of the time I push it up on the bridge while a few time I used one hand on the corner/hinge. As for the reason, I guess I had picked up the pushing the bridge trait from Kuro from the manga/ anime One Piece (that was his running gag) back when I wasn't wearing glasses back then.

Bridge, using my index finger, in 3 situations.
1) When I've just finished saying something clever.
2) When I'm feeling shy.
3) When my glasses actually need adjusting.

I use one hand/finger on the arm/hinge, usually on my right side. Sometimes bridge, but usually the arm on the side so I don't interrupt my line of vision.

Got to be using the finger on the bridge. Makes a serious point...more serious.

I personally love taking them off for no reason but to gesture with them dramatically.
