Just wondering out of curosity about what people think is there opinion of the latest time you would go to a place to eat.
Work in a kitchen and always wonder why people walk in 5 minutes before we close.
Have you seen the movie waiting??

I know the feeling. I worked in a restaurant for 8 years, and generally people didn't come in 10 minutes before the kitchen closed except for one guy. After a while the owner told this guy to call ahead if he was planning to come in late. Which just changed the dread from waiting for him to come in 10 minutes before closing to waiting for him to call 30 minutes before closing.

I eat at home at 10, so 10. Closing before 11 seems bizarre to me.

I worked in a restaurant for a bit (not in the kitchen, though) - we would close at 9 or 10 depending on whether there were people or not (it was about several kilometres out of town. Safe to assume that nobody would just feel peckish half an hour before closing time and drive over). If we had customers, we would stay open until they went home, of course, but the kitchen would close at some point. One time we stayed in until midnight for a a single guy and his wife. I can't blame them, it was a nice place, but seriously - they came sometime around 7 or 8.

OT: well the latest I'd go it an hour before closing and I don't mean leaving home at that point but actually being there. And that's assuming I'll order something for home, not stay and eat there.
