Feel free to include a list of your ten favourites when responding to the poll, too. Mine are:

1. Super Mario 64
- really, the quintessential N64 game
2. GoldenEye 007
- in my opinion, the greatest post-Doom shooter
3. Paper Mario
- different, but roughly as good as any PSX RPG
4. Conker's Bad Fur Day
- like Banjo or D-K, but witty whereas those were bland
5. Star Fox 64
- instant gratification in a cart
6. Space Station Silicon Valley
- a GTA antecedent, and very creative
7. Super Smash Bros.
- one of the best fighters of its generation; hardcore or no
8. Duke Nukem 64
- come get some - i.e. wickedly fun co-op and DM modes (and frame rate)
9. Spider-Man
- the first game to adequately channel the comic book
10. Gauntlet Legends
- in my opinion, the funnest - if not deepest - multiplayer experience on the console

Notable contenders:
- Pilotwings 64
- DOOM 64
- Blast Corps.
- Mario Tennis
- Pokémon Puzzle League
- Turok: Rage Wars
- Perfect Dark
- Command & Conquer
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber
- Wetrix

OoT of course. Shadowman and Snowboard Kids are great ones too. won't go into the full list of awesome N64 games but to keep it simple, OoT was the best (though the Master Quest was better)

I have a copy of Shadow Man around the house I intend to play once I get around to it -- i.e., once I finish Pokemon Emerald, The Secret of Monkey Island SE, Body Harvest, and Perfect Dark -- as I've heard good things. What's it like?

Also -- though I understand why it's so acclaimed -- I could never really get into OoT. The graphics, muzak, art design, etc. were all excellent, but I just found the sheer volume of tedious and/or obscure puzzle-solving in the game broke down the momentum of it. Of course, that criticism can be extended to virtually every Zelda except the first, which is my favourite.

Man i dunno i have played a crap load of good N64 games.. And on the other hand i have played a crap load of HORRIBLE N64 games.. Such as Superman OH GOD THE MEMORIES!!!!!!!!!!!!! But anyways what im trying to say is that i dont think i can narrow it down to 10.. theres just to many..

The n64 in my opinion is one of the best systems of this decade period! Its right up there with the DreamCast.. I LOOOOOOOVEEE THE DREAMCAST! I think that it died out way to soon! It had so much promise! It was like a Xbox but better!

Super Smash bros was the best for me. In my opinion, it still has the best physics of the series...

I'd say that it's a three-way tie between Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time and Conker's Bad Fur Day.
Since no tie option exists, I just randomly picked one of the three.

A good list. But you forgot Doom 64, a very fun and a underated shooter on the N64 in my opnion.

Also, Super Mario 64 is the greatest N64 game of all time.
I love Doom 64, actually -- the level designs are great, though the subtlety of its excellence seems to have been lost on graphics-fetishizing reviewers -- though what stopped me from putting it on the list was its lack of replay value in lieu of not having a multi-player. If it had DM, though, it would be on the list.

Goldeneye was a great shooter for it's time so my vote might go for this one or maybe Super Mario 64, but where is Star Fox 64? I know it's been a while but it still was a good game.

OoT. Everyone pretty much thinks it was the best in the series, and it's considered one of the best games of all time.

Yea, some of the reviews (and i mean YOU gamespot) were focusing way to much on the visuals rather then the actual gameplay.

As for Doom 64 not having any multiplayer, well it was indeed pretty lame considering that the original Doom's on the PC all had great multiplayer. Hell, even the Playstation version supported link cabe co-op and deathmatch modes.

Still a great game thought.
A shame, too, since it would've been a stone-hard classic if it had it - though I guess the concept of having an N64 shooter with multiplay didn't really catch on until GoldenEye; what with the first Turok not having it and all.

On a slightly different note, the N64 port of Quake was /fail/ - terrible frame rate (especially in multi-player), butchered graphics, and it only supported two players.
