Just why? Why would you want to pay full price for a game which came out a decade ago, which only seems to have a graphic update? Just seems a bit cheeky. Would you get it?

I just never liked Halo and the idea that the series that was barely released one generation of consoles ago is getting a remake already, makes me a little sick. If I say anything good about Halo, it's that I'd rather see Halo 4 than Halo the remake.

No. I still own the original, and it can be gotten for $5-$10 at any used game store. Why would I pay $40 to play it just with updated graphics? Besides, I don't feel like giving any money to 343 because until I see more details on Halo 4 I'm going to assume they're untalented and are just going to screw over the Halo franchise; a franchise which, despite the widespread hate for it, I've always loved, because the first Halo was what really got me into gaming. Especially after Microsoft's comments about how ODST and Reach had lost focus and all the games should be about John-117, which I thought was really narrow-minded. Reach was by far my favorite Halo game, and I loved ODST as well because it tried something relatively new for the Halo franchise.

So, no, I won't be buying Halo Anniversary or Halo 4. Halo ended with Reach.

I won't be getting it, for the opposite reason to the OP. The game is nowhere near old enough to need a re-release (I would say remake but there's no change apart from graphics). The game is not a long lost classic that's not playable on this generation of consoles. It's completely unnecessary, the people who play games now are people who already have the first Halo in (relatively) recent memory. And it's not like the Halo series has changed that much over the years anyway. The whole of the first trilogy played the same more or less. You can play up to date Halo games which are still mostly the same experience as the first.

And about that comment MS being narrow-minded in saying that Halo isn't good without Master Chief, I'm kind of in between on that one. I see what you mean about them being closed minded, of course Halo is more than just the Master Chief, but I always felt like Halo was less special without him. But Arbiter was always the best...
