so not so long ago i was having this conversation over with a friend she claimed i should be less pasimistik and learn to love myself (i hate myself XP) anyway i told her that im my life the basic emotion is depretion and its interupted once in a (loooong) while by things things that make me happy...
she claims that she is usualy happy and once in a while shes sad and then back to happy (the oppisite)
so what about you r u like me (depressed until there is something to be happy about) or like her (happy until there is something to be sad about...)

I am nothing until there is a reason to be happy or sad. Depending how you live your life and your opinions on certain aspects of life, you can tend to be one or the other.

I try to be generally optimistic. Although that's quite hard due to recent events in my life. So I'm generally depressed, but with a positive outlook.

I am usually a happy guy. I look for the good in every person and/or situation rather than the bad, and I usually find it.

I say that the secret to finding happiness is simply to be happy.

From that sentence alone, you probably know where I stand...

"Either the gods dribbled their joy juice on you or didn't"

Well that was a pleasant image.

I am usually happy though :) There are redeeming qualities in almost any situation.

(in my opinion) happiness is a resolt for something good that happened
sadness and desperation comes from the lack of something good/happy thing...
so... yea...

I have what I call a "wide neutral zone" meaning that I'm generally in an OK mood, with circumstances only mildly affecting it unless they're extreme in one direction or the other. This isn't to say that I'm emotionless, just that it takes a lot to make me "happy" or "sad" in the usual sense of the words.

As for being optimistic/pessimistic...

I'm realistic and a skeptic. It's not one way or the others until I've been shown otherwise. However, most things are typically good/possitive as well as most people and so forth and so on.

I tend to fluctuate between happy, sad and indifferent. Sometimes there's a reason for it, sometimes I'm just feeling happy/sad/meh for no reason.

I am like your friend to a lesser degree. I choose to be non emotional at most times. I like the Morally grey area of the spectrum.

No offense, I really dont mean to insult you here, but maybe you should work on your spelling a little before you dabble in light philosophy? Dont get me wrong, you could be a master mind for all I know, but bad spelling generally worsens your credibility.

Anyhow, most people would call me a pessimist. I dont think its a versus thing. I wouldnt call myself a pessimist even though I have the mindset "It will get worse before it gets better". For me, its more of a logical conclusion. I dont have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that when something can go wrong, it usually does, or that when somethings to good to be true, it is just that. It works on both a personal level - you know, things I have experienced and such - and on a wider scale, when you look at the world as a whole.
well dont worry about the spelling thing eanglish isnt my born-language also im discrafic so i get this A LOT XP
and i know its not a versus thing i didnt take my time for thinking on a better title if you have one by all means tell me and ill change it...

I live with depressive disorder every day of my life, I will feel like absolute **** but I try my best each day to put a smile on anothers face, to see my self optimistically, and to appreciate all the little things and to ignore the pesky thoughts of suicide...

I thought this at first as well, but I figured he must be speaking (or in this case typing) English as a second language... I sure hope so anyways.

OT: I'm generally happy unless something happens to darken my mood. Which could be anything really.

I'm usually in the neutral area, but I usually see the pessimistic side of things first. It's kind of like Yahtzee: everything is shit unless proven otherwise.
