I was reading this article: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.200499-Science-Says-Pro-Gamers-Arent-Athletes

I have a hypothetical question for all of the escapists: Would you rather look obese on the outside, and be physically fit on the inside or look thin and have the guts of a 60-year-old smoker?

Thin but unfit, only because I already am. Not so much that my guts represent those of a 60-year-old-smoker though, but so much that I don't do enough (and barely any) physical exercise on a daily basis.

If being overweight would be the only issue, and everything inside me still worked fine, I'd prefer that I guess.

well if you can maintain yourself fat but fit. There is a happy medium of being "Fat" and fit. You can weigh 240+ pounds and be justified as "Fat" but not be fat at all. Most college atheltes weigh a "Fat" amount but are very fit.

That's a hard question. is it easier to loose weight or to become fit?
I'd go for fit and fat. If I'm already fit, it's very easy to loose weight. Plus, I couldn't stand not being able to walk up three steps without stopping for a breather...

EDIT: and being thin AND unfit, just seems like something really bad. If you're fit/fat you're healty in a way that a smoking anorexic would never be. (unless they changed their lifestyle drasctically)

I'm already thin and unfit, so I would say fat and fit. I could be a sumo!

Right now I fall into the "thin but fit" category. Having above average strength and energy has helped me out much more than being able to fit through narrow spaces.

Going to a marathon and seeing the look of disbelief on people's faces when they get beat by a fat guy? Sounds fun to me.

Well, I'm thin and unfit right now, so I'll stay with that.

I'd like to be fit (too lazy though), but I'd absolutely hate to be fat.

That's a very difficult question... I have no idea what it's like to be not thin, and I don't like the idea of my innards being unhealthy beyond my control.

Um... Fat but fit, I think. If I'm fit it should mean it's relatively easy to lose weight again.

Well, building a good cardio doesn't take that long time, about 10 weeks with a bit of dedication. So I guess I'd go with the thin but unfit. I've never been overweight, so I can't really estimate how long it'd take to lose the excess fat. But it isn't all that hard to both be thin and fit, just bike too and from the place you study/work, and take your time to go for a bit of running about 2-3 times a week.

A few extra pounds but still being very healthy. That's more or less where i'm at right now, actually.

I'd much rather be fat but fit. I don't care if fewer people would find me attractive, being fit is more important.

Fat but fit, as I am now...

There's nothing risky about having some extra weight on your bones, in fact it just might save you in a car crash...

I'm thin and quite unfit.

If I was fat but fit couldn't I just get rid of it easily? I'd just go feck about in the sea for a week or two and get rid of it.

Thin and unfit. It's significantly easier to improve fitness than it is to lose weight.
