I'm a little curious. Being a person who presses the 'open/close' button, and seeing all my friends push their trays completely shut or nudge it to get it moving, I began to wonder how everyone else closes their disc tray on anything; game consoles, computers, dvd players etc.

It depends.
If I'm right there, I'll push it in or push the button, wherever my finger lands, and if I'm far away, I use the "close tray" selection on the Xbox dashboard.

Being very OCD, if someone pushes the CD tray shut it compells me to open it and shut it with the button.

A disc tray is very much like a woman. Treat her gently and get to know her instead of ramming things into her and she won't break in the first years of her life span.

With the power of my mind! *Gasps*

I tell my finger to push the button.

For my PS2 I would always push reset.

Now, I have no such button to need to push. And ejecting is even more lazy person friendly.

I press the damn button.

It's been my experience that nudging them closed CAN be bad for them over time, I've had CD drives die on me like this.

As for shoving it all the way closed? My God! If someone did that to my 360 I'd probably leap off the couch and beat their skull with the controller!

It really depends if it feels like opening in the first place. It has a tendency to get stuck and not open. But when I eventually wrestle it out I press the button to close it.
