Considering I have an account (that I haven't updated in a long time, even though I have more pictures that could be considered mediocre enough to live up to my standards), I will have to say I like it. I also have all sorts of things on there I use, like my custom Vista theme, taskbar resizer and more. It's a great place for creativity.
It's an art community. People have art there. Some of it is good, some of it isn't. I've actually found some pretty good pictures there before, and used them for things like desktop backgrounds and Neverwinter Nights character portraits.

It's pretty good, you can find some good stuff there.

The problem with DA is the majority of art is terrible fan art made on Paint.
My main complaint as a serious photographer is that 3/4 of the "photographers" on DA just go out with a point and shoot and click away and most of them cant define ISO or Aperture.
On another side note all it takes to be popular on DA is boobs and or Fanart.

Yay = Landscape & fashion photography, art memes, handmade crafts, stock photos, tutorials, original art, photoshop brushes, & organized fanclubs.
Boo = Naruto ship pairing fanart, softcore porn & lingerie fetish pinups passing as atistic nude photography, people mistaking DA for Photobucket, nude furries, softcore hentai, people posting scans from manga & comic books, people posting screencaps, & Mary-Sue/Marty-Stu Sonic pairing fanart.

Cool idea, but too filled with anime versions of used-to-be-not-girly characters. Why are they doing this to my favorite characters? And why do they get more views than a decent mech?
Probably one of the better art hosting sites on there. Lots of famous and talented artists. I enjoy checking my feeds at the start of every week and seeing what other artists are doing (that being said the art I have up on there is pretty awful and done for personal enjoyment and the enjoyment of friends)
