Just wondering. And I didn't put it in religion and politics for one thing to stop it being isolated to only those who had strong feelings about it...and because I don't want this discussion to devolve into such a pointless flame war that it becomes a convincing reason to destroy the internet.

Don't forget to say which country you live in.

I come from the UK, and I hate my government.

Obviously, they're more or less intent on abandoning my generation. Tuition fee cuts, an unemployment issue little is being done about, and, to my eyes the worst crime, the cutting of services to under-twenty year olds that, when I was that age, proved vital to me. I'd go as far to say that they saved me from my own self destruction, and now in the future, people who find themselves in that situation will have nowhere to go.

I believe you should never trust this government. Never trust any government. Anyone with that much power should never be trusted, simply because of massive damage they can cause upon betraying you. This government, however, are beyond that. They are my enemy. They make everything as difficult as possible. All three governments of my lifetime have tried to wreck me. Blair put together the academy system, which I was in the pilot scheme for because no other school would deal with my aspergers. That was hell, and it destroyed me as a person for many years after. He downright lied about the safety of that place, and I hope for the day when he pays for that, and every other crime he committed. Brown took a lagging economy and destroyed it, preventing me from getting a job. Cameron's policies look worse by the day for anyone who isn't rich, and clegg flat out betrayed the entire country for a taste of power.

People say I don't see these people as human, but why should I? They want the power of a god. They want control over us all, and then they turn around and want to be forgiven for their mistakes and crimes because they're "only human"? Fuck them. I don't expect a government to not make mistakes, but I expect them to be ready to pay for them, or at least to apologise.

Yeah, I've got a grudge, but I don't see why that makes their action any less disgusting. I don't want them dead. That'd be too good for them, and besides, on the day that they are properly brought to lawful justice, we'd finally have a truly fair country, where nobody, no matter their position, is exempt from the law.

I wouldn't day I outright hate the government. I'm mostly apathetic and distrustful. I don't keep up with politics at all since it's all just a circle jerk of self promotion and bureaucracy. People talk and talk but nothing ever changes. I'm from the UK too, by the way.

I wish Harper was the one who died of cancer. That, or someone skinned him alive. Or various other horrible, vicious things. The man is stripping away our rights day by day and has been committing treason almost daily and we let him. I hate you, Canada. Step up - someone needs to kill Stephen Harper. Seriously.

I remember when Clegg and the other Lib Dems "pledged" rather than "promised" to reduce tuition fees as a part of their election schemes. They claimed that a "pledge" was much more binding and showed their commitment more.

Now tuition fees have tripled so i think it's pretty safe for me to say i distrust the government. Luckily i'm going for a chemistry degree so i should have a decent job by the end of it.

I do not like the government in the UK. Especially Nick Clegg and the lib dems. I am lucky that I finished university just before the fee's rose. The government have done so much damage and so many broken promises. I don't trust them.

I just had to post this video.

Canadian here .

Our government is alright . Free healthcare . Proper social aid. Making montreal students get a taste of real life ( selfish pricks ).

Sure it's corrupt in some places , but do what you gotta do and it won't affect you much . I find people that whine and ***** atthe canadian government should have a taste of other countries .

My only gripe is Canadian politics are borings , and it's all he said/she said bullshit .

People fail to realise how hard it is to run a country .

My two cents .

I'm British.

I'm applying for university this year. Can you see where this is going?

Yeah, I don't hate them, but the longer they've been in power the more I've come to mistrust them. They seem determined to make things as difficult as possible for ordinary people, and as easy as possible for rich people, all the while insisting that, "we're all in it together."

Oh, but I do just flat out hate Nick Clegg.

I don't hate them, but I don't trust them, either. Mostly because I don't trust the people who elected them, and politicians are slaves to public opinion. US politics is polarized to the point where nothing gets done, because both "sides" are too busy making sure the other side doesn't accomplish anything. It's a toxic environment, and it is poisoning the country.

Tories, arrogant bastards who don't seem to care about people below them, only those who feed them money. Well that's my view of them anyway.

Full of outdated cowards. I find my system flawed, yet fine, it just needs new, smarter people.

America.

I think our government is a collection of inept twats wasting time and money and proving to me the worst part of a democracy is that people like Michelle Bachmann and Rick Perry actually hold positions of power when they're some of the biggest idiots I've ever seen or heard. The loud and the idiotic drown out the ones that might actually be good at what they do, and the only one that I actually liked resigned over a twitter picture of his junk despite there being other people in congress that have done so much worse and are still there.

If it wasn't obvious, America.

I fucking hate the Conservatives, they have the nerve to call poor people/people on benefits lazy and unwilling to work whilst simultaneously making it harder and harder for us to find good work or to become better educated in order to find said good work.

And that's not the worst of it, they then reduce people's benefits and make out that those who do a little bit of work on the side for a small amount of extra money are evil whilst letting rich assholes tax avoid literally billions of pounds.

The only positive thing I can say about The Conservatives is that Louise Mensch is kind of cute.

Anyway, I'd say they're probably the weakest government the UK has seen in a very long time, and they commit way too many U-turns. Hopefully they'll break up soon and the Liberals will be relegated to obscurity, and we get some other tossers who are marginally better.

I think America has lost sight of what it should have been. Thomas Jefferson said something that just don't ring true anymore.

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."

Could it be possible that all these presidential assassins were just all up to their ears in the Second Amendment?

As most undoubtedly agree, the American goverment is a cesspool that needs to be cleaned thoroughly with the strongest possible bleaching agent known to man.

Frankly though, few things have ultimately changed from ages past. Aristocracy has been replaced with politicians and celebrities, merchant guilds have been replaced by corporate boards, royalty has been replaced with "Made men" in politics and business, essentially the untouchables.
Peasants and serfs have been replaced with the middle and lower class, toiling away most often in financial slavery.

Citizens have never held control over their government beyond the size of a small village in any point in history to my knowledge. The rich and powerful have always held sway and been immune to the laws of their own decree, while citizens have attempted to eke out a living, though in some places that is easier than others in the modern age.

People are simply more cognizent and relatively more educated on matters if they choose to be. Though most fall prey to being subdued by the various media of their nation, whether focusing their angst towards the government towards amusement and base diversion or towards hatred of another nation's government or people (IE America. Heaping all the problems and hatred on someone else keeps scrutiny off themselves).

<color=#f7f7f7>No, I will never stop doing that.
Everyone I talk to despises the Harper government. I don't see why, they haven't done anything horrible yet, and the alternative is "I hate your province and everyone in it" Thomas Mulcair.
