Waffle waffle, paragraph filler, question time! What is the best way to play games? Are you the type to go solo, do you like having people around your house to play against or do you prefer to play over the internet?

As much as I love playing by myself, I find nothing beats the thrill of meatspace multiplayer.

Depends on the game. I love to hook up with a couple of mates online then go to town on BF3, and to be honest having all of the screen to oneself is pretty much a must for that. Especially if you have a fetish for MBT's or CAS. On the other hand, games like FIFA or LBP are at their best when you're in the same room as the other guy(s).

Two things I miss from "ye olde days": 8 player FIFA via MultiTap, and leaning forward to pull the cable to the other guys buttons out of the console when losing.

I don't play a lot of multiplayer games, competitive or co-operative. Or both, in the case of team-based games, which are most of what I used to play until I lost the drive to. The chance of you actually getting teammates who understand the concept of teamwork is practically nil, unless you have a group of people to play with. The ultimate offender here being Defense of the Ancients and the various games based on it.

I prefer single player, but I'm also a big fan of getting x amount of people, plopping console down, choosing some random shooter and making a night out of killing each other for giggles.
Don't like internet multiplayer, it just feels impersonal. Grew up actually playing with people, usually in somebodies bedroom, this whole disembodied voice/text thing doesn't scream "fun" to me.

Local coop has been my favourite ever since Secret of Mana. On the other hand, cooperating with people you don't know is one of the most aggravating things you can do in life, and a ridiculous idea for recreation.

Most of my gaming is solo, but I'd coop with friends more given the chance.

I prefer single player games.

I usually slap a game on to relax and be away from other folk so multiplayer and co-op kind of defeats the point for me.

Although I really do avoid co-op games like the plague and only play a multiplayer game once in a blue moon.

I'm definitely more of a single player kind of guy. I don't mind sitting on a sofa and doing some multiplayer with mates, but I'm not usually all that fussed about multiplayer stuff. I've tried to play the multiplayer on games like call of Duty and Assassin's Creed: Revelations but I just hate the impersonality of it all.

Co-operative with someone present in the same room! Co-operative over Skype is often the easiest alternative, but I still think being present in the same room as the people I'm working together with is the best experience!

I prefer single player games over multiplayer games. If I am playing a multiplayer game however, then I prefer local co-op over playing with someone who isn't in the same room, as communication can break down pretty quickly.

Alone/Online. Too bad it's not multiple choice.
Co-Op is ideal, which is why I love ME3's multiplayer so much, though it's become a bit stagnant. (Needs more maps).

Most of the above.

Predominantly single player, but I enjoy some multiplayer every so often too. I prefer to work in a team, either against AI or another human team. My current MP darling is Planetside 2.

Really, the only kind I don't like is free-for-all multiplayer.

I used to love playing co-op, I've spent many a day playing Time Crisis with my buddy at the arcade, and even more at home playing Vampire Night (anyone remember this game?)

But now, well...It isn't fun anymore and I don't know why. Maybe because we don't get immersed as easily as we did when we were young, but nowadays I play on my own.

I also hate Resident Evil and it's "CO-OP! LOOK AT ME I'M A CO-OP GAME. BUY ME BUY ME BUY ME AND WE CAN HAVE FUN WITH YOU AND YOUR BUDDIES" mentality.

I like pretty much all of the above, though when it comes to something like say, Borderlands or Halo 4 where you can go through the story with friends I would prefer for them to fuck right off so I can listen to the bloody story without my friend's shitty music playing over the headset at max volume. That or I can hear the current episode of Eastenders word for word. Not sure which is worse to be honest.

I really like our 5 man premade LoL team, we usually do quite well and it's really fun. Though it often (read: always) turns into Eoywn Throws the Game: Riven Edition. The worst time was when he facechecked our Blue Buff at level 1 with Katarina when we KNEW, clearly KNEW they were all in there waiting to steal our blue. We were all out, planning to nip over to their blue to take it then suddenly

"MAN MOOOOOODE! AHHHHHHH!" FIRST BLOOD

Fucking hell. You retard. I am the only one who can Man Mode that hard and not die, that's not even Man Moding it's plain suicide. What can Katarina even DO at level 1? You took Bouncing Blade as well so it's not like you can even use her W speed boost to try to escape. Rookie kicked him from the Skype call out of disgust for that.

I particularly enjoy local competitive multiplayer. Gotta love the nice, clean, lagless play, and the hype that comes with the people hanging around.

In the Highlands, where power is likely to be taken out at any moment, we work alone.

Coop! Coop! mostly cause I already plainly suck at video games, and it helps to have a good friend on your team.
