Hiya escapists.
[sub]I apologize if this has been done before, but the searchbar wouldn't quite co-operate, and it would be hard do find anyways.[/sub]

I've heard that some people think using images, and some people think using words, and that other people think using feelings (I'm not too certain about that last one).

So I figured I wanted to know: Do you, escapists, think via words, images or feelings?

If you think in more than one way, just pick the one you use the most. I, for example, normally think in words.

Edit: My first poll-fail... Should I just try posting the thread again, and erasing this one?

Edit: Hey, now the poll is there. Yay!

It's amazing what it does for YouTube comments.

I guess I think using mostly words. And i don't think this has been done before. :)
Though I'm not entirely sure what you mean by your question... also, there is no poll.

EDIT: Nevermind.

Wow, I just realized I don't really think in any exact medium. I guess you'd say I think in thoughts.

Or perhaps I think in words, I can't really tell.

I think and learn visually.

Been doing it ever since I was young. Helps me understand things and remember.

Words. I often talk to myself in my head. It's fun and isn't as bad as talking to yourself out loud.

I think in words and feelings, but if i want i can focus my contentration and imagine vivid images (sort of like a film)... the bad part about it is i space out while i do it, just staring blankly into thin air....

as for what i do most, hard to tell.... words, i guess, although i try not to since i find it to be restricting my free imagination

I think in all three, usualy depending on the situation and what i'm thinking about.

Oddly though when i think in words, as like speaking to your self in your mind it's not in my voice, well i dont think it sounds like my voice and i can never get a second opinion on the matter *sigh*

I voted all, but the method that for me is most significant wasn't listed:

Relational patterns. When i think about something or read something, i don't just read words, i also don't just imagine them, i don't just feel them - i mainly see and feel the structure of the meaning.

Out of the three. Mainly words. Although there are those wordless thoughts, where you just think something. I'll also think in images alot, especially when I fantasize (which I do alot), so that comes in at a close 2nd. Don't often think in feelings though, as I'm more of a logical-thinker kind of guy.

Completely in words. Probably explains why I'm a writer.

I struggle to visualise things. That's why I get annoyed when environments aren't described to me well in literature. I can't picture it if it hasn't been translated into words for me. I can communicate through feelings, of course, and convey them, or empathise with others, but that's entirely separate from thought for me. Even when it comes to understanding feelings, I'll usually reflect on them or rationalise them in words.

I think in images and words in my head.It can get kinda confusing trying to focus on both at the same time so sometime i have to manually stop thinking images for a second to listen to the words being said and there all in my voice.

Mostly images here, which considering I'm something of a writer is very useful, weirdly enough, as I can picture scenes and stuff in my head and then write them down as descriptions of what I'm imagining. It's so useful for scriptwriting and story-boarding, too, as a screenwriter... :)

I think in words... I think...

I tend not to think about it whilst I am thinking, but if pushed about how I was thinking, I would be definitely thinking in words.

yeah... that's it...
