Ok, so I started playing HL2 single player. I realized after a while that I hated the grav gun in many respects because it didn't seem powerful to me. I couldn't hurt enemies directly, and i had trouble finding stuff that could kill anything. When I started playing Deathmatch however, i started using the Grav Gun more, my friend even said he could tell what kind of player I was because I used the grav gun so much when I played Ravenholm during one of our gaming sessions.
My question is, in any form you want to answer, how much do you use the grav gun, and why do you use it the amount that you do?

I mostly use it either when I'm flailing around in desperation and hit the wrong key on the keyboard switching to it by accident, when I'm low on ammo and when there are goodies in a spot where I can't reach them.

Story games: Only when dictated to, when in need of grenade creativity or when out of ammo, not often. Although quite a lot in Ravenholm due to the saw blades and gas tanks.

Death match: All the time, it's my opening shot. The feeling of getting the toilet kill icon is unmatched in humiliation for the enemy. Plus if you miss you have a fully loaded gun at the press of Q.

I used the gravity gun a lot more in the episodes of half life 2 because ammo seems to be more sparse, either that or i was just missing more. It also depends on how much stuff there is to throw, if there are toilets about i cant resist the gravity gun.

My ammo count for the Grav Gun is measured in nearby radiators.
It's propane tanks for me, unfortunately those things are rare.

But I rarely use the gravity gun, I prefer SMOD and the physics launcher.(basically the gravity gun, but it launches copies of an object) Always fun to fill an entire building with bricks.

I've only been able to get the physics gun in Gmod. is there a way to get it in the actual game?

I abused it in Ravenholm with the sawblades, and never used it except for puzzles out side of there.

There isnt enough heavy stuff to hit people with outside of Ravenholm.

Physics launcher, not gun. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bG9t4IryjgM&NR=1] I also don't know if there's an actual physics launcher in Gmod since I don't have that program.

Anyway, SMOD itself just adds new stuff(weapons, enemies) and doesn't make any changes to the game.(well, any NPC can die so the alt fire of the AR2 in a small room with a plot NPC is a great way to get game over)

This presumes i use the grav-gun which is silly because its only useful in ravenholme and the final mission.

Plus i don't play it any more. I wasn't very impressed.

Exclusively if at all possible. I'd prefer to kill a ************ with a mattress than a shotgun if possible.
