I've been following many Earthbound auctions for the past few months on different sites and recently this popped up on Ebay 2 days ago.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=290313422065

It is a factory sealed copy of Earthbound. I have never seen one before on Ebay so I'm quite curious as to how high it'll go.

Anyways I'm just wondering how much is too much for you guys?

Holy Hell! 700 bucks! Thats just stupid, and the price will probably jump later on.
Who the hell spends 700 bucks on a game? 100 pushing it for me, and thats only if the game comes with add ons like, lets say, a plastic drum kit, guitar, and mic. With said game you could play for endless hours with your freinds. A game like, I dont know, Rock Band maybe?

I will pay 200+ if the game is a master piece. Normal games are worth 50 - 75 to me.

I think the most I spent for a game was 125 dollars for ogre battle 64. But only because it's my favorite game of all time.

I think the saying "You get what you pay for." applies to this somewere, but when you add ebay into the mix. There is no makeing sence of it. Some people will buy it just because it's expencive.

edit: I think 100 should be enough; collectors editions included.

With a quick calculation of currency the price of a new game in denmark is about 100$ so i guess thats what i'm willing to pay, although i only buy brand new games at full price if i think they're really good

120$ Max. Hence why I will NEVER play WoW. I could use that money for something better. Like Vodka or Bourbon.

I'm not too certain the currency your talking. I assume dollars. The most I pay for a game is £40, and it has to be special. The only way I'd pay more is if I knew I'd get my money back upon selling it.

I have never spent more than $100 NZ on a game, and I normally don't buy them unless they are less than $70. Divide by about 1.8 to get US dollars, or about 2.5 for pounds.

im rarely using more than 50? (350 danish crowns, im from denmark, and no, we dont use euro) as im not the guy who buy all the classics n such. most expensive game was WoW if u count the PtP price, as ive played for 4 years almost. without, its Titan Quest. it costs 450 danish crowns (the same as 45£) excluding expansion, which costed the same. BUT... the game is so gawd-damm awesome.

edit: also heard that chrono trigger and ff6 should go for about 600$

I voted 0 to 50, but really this is all relative to the region and the currency used there. . .a reasonable numerical value in one country doesn't necessarily translate very well in another for reasons such as differences in value of currency, local pay rates, etc.

I agree. When I buy a game, I don't want to be paying to play it long after I bought it. I used my hard earned money to buy your product. That should be enough. This is also the reason I will never pay for Xbox Live.

Over $AU100.00 is pushing it for me... I'm trying to make my addiction cheaper, buying through Steam (which is great when the Aussie dollar is strong against the US dollar, like the bliss period when the exchange rate was $US1.00=$AU0.98) and waiting till sales (luckily, my birthday falls the time of the mid-year sales).

The game will probably end around 1500+
