Recently I have noticed how many people are not very respectful (read: complete asses), yes I have been halfway-blind for the past 15 years, but now to the question: How polite are you? I'm curious to see the difference between the people of the escapist and many of the the people I have the misfortune of knowing.

A few other questions: How polite are most of the people you know? The strangers in your area?
Finally, how do you react when someone is either very polite or very rude?

Captcha edit: Anyone know how to turnover a rniza?

I always say please and thank you when necessary.
Usually excessively.
Help others, hold doors, etc.
I do what I can to make days better for other people, be they acquaintances or strangers.

I'm polite enough so that nobody will get angry with me for not being so.

Unless of course, they're nasty to me first, in which case, I'll be just as nasty back.

Go screw yourself, please.

Ok so I'm more of a smartass than impolite ;)

EDIT: I'm Canadian, so we're all pretty polite by default anyway...

I'd like to think so.
I say please and thank you when necessary but it seems I'm far more apologetic.
I'm not really sure why though >.>
If something goes wrong or if someone just simply doesn't like something, I'll continually say "I'm sorry" again and again.

Weird. >.>

Quite polite for me.

I'm courteous enough for anyone who knows me offline and online to know that I am... suave. ^-^

Not even fuckin' slightly.

I can do tact and charm, it's actually pretty easy. I just prefer to be blunt and direct. Downright rude, even.
It helps a lot that I actually don't give a shit what people think of me.

Polite to most people.
Can be a complete asshole to people I comfortable with, though.
Jokingly, of course.

I usually try and have good manners and be polite, especially when it comes to the opposite sex, but i can be a smartass/ sarcastic asshole. 99% of the time im teasing or joking, but sometimes people mis-interrupt it for being rude lol. oh well.. its just the way i am.

My girlfriend loves it so thats good enough for me.

I'm very polite, no matter if they're friends or strangers. I'm also known to be able to somehow be able to cheer people up when they're really unhappy, despite the fact that my humour is quite odd and somewhat pessimistic at times. Though if someone's rude to me or one of my friends, I will be very mocking/insulting towards them, and even more sarcastic than I usually can be (which is quite light-hearted most of the time).

Probably unpleasantly polite most of the time.

Though when the opportunity to help someone arises, I do whatever I can to avoid it. For I feel very uncomfortable when I may be noticed, and I'm afraid of.. something. I usually feel guilty afterwards for not doing it instead.

I am polite most of the time. If you catch me on a bad day or fail to use your blinker I become an asshole.

The 'very polite' option holds so much truth...
Let me just say that I'm polite, but not modest :) I feel like a floorboard sometimes, but the people who matter respect me for it, so what the hang :p

I'm not really polite.

It's not for the sake of being impolite, but when I say the same things over and over and over it just sounds like making noises to me, and it feels as embarassing as standing in public and grunting or meowing.

So I more or less say what needs to be said, not necessarily what someone wants to hear. The best thing I can point to to explain it is Sten in DA:O. He's not impolite, but there's absolutely zero verbal fluff to anything he says at all.
