How is 140-160 average? Is that the average for the entire world? The average for males here is 180 or more.

I'm somewhere 6 foot something (8 I think) which look like I'm above average in the poll althought compare to my mates I'm the smallest (my mates are a few inches taller).

It's the nature of the internet to 'overestimate' one's attributes.

That or height threads encourage tall people to come show off their height.

Edit: On actually looking it's because the poll is flawed, 170cm is about 5ft6 which is below average for women even.

And I happen to be in one of those gaps.
And I hope you realise that average heights between countries can vary by as much as 30cm?
And in follow on, which average are we using? American, Australian, British?

I was 193 cm tall the last time I measured myself. People have said that I have grown since though, but I doubt it. Would say around 195 max.
