Not just my opinion, but the opinions of all. Post your ideas on how EA could improve Spore in further updates (and updates have been confirmed, just not exactly what they want).

A few of the most important points in my opinion, followed by suggestions:

1) AI - Some species will go all-out to annihalate you and your allies, and won't back down until you've destroyed something close to 80% of their colonies. Being able to interact and actually reason with enemies, rather than just bribe or destroy them, would be welcome.

Gifts - Instead of just Sporebucks, why can't we hand over uncolonised planets or surplus Spice? Given it takes a good twenty minutes to hit all your colonies and whip up some cash to offer a cash gift, I'm sure plenty of people would favour this.

Intergration - Why is it, when we buy out a solar system, the original empire simply disappears? Surely we'd just arrive and own the place, but not kick them out. That way, it allows your colonies to pick up the purchase prices of the original colonies. This would also give a good reason for buying out solar systems over overthrowing them.

2) Micromanagement - Especially in the Space stage, you are the sole representative of your race in every single damn thing it does, from commerce to warfare, diplomacy to terraforming. Why can't we delegate tasks to other ships? After all, the other empires are lousy with space ships when it comes to attacking you, but we can't get it together to make some ourselves? Please.

Trade - Between colonies, solar systems owned by you can trade with each-other, generating Sporebucks for your coffers without requiring you to be constantly shipping them from place to place. Of course, in the interests of balance, the revenues generated by the trade would have to be less than what you'd get for doing it yourself, say, 50% - 60% of the base unit value.

Guard - For a cost (or a percentage of the revenue generated by the colonies within that solar system), you can order your own, or allied ships to guard solar systems from attack and assist in managing Eco-Disasters. They wouldn't guarantee total defence or effectiveness, but they'd be a welcome assistance in defending colonies, if not handling attacks themselves.

3) Awkwardness - By the latter stages of the game, it was hard to get anything done without something interrupting me. I'd be trying to make some cash trading Spice when suddenly an allied colony demands I help them save their ecosystem by blasting some glowing dickmonsters. What's more, when it comes to assimilating a new planet, why do I have to design a new style of house, factory and entertainment building, and then position them individually?

Templates - Surely, being able to have preset buildings and city designs would be a great timesaver for the player who just wants to get a planet up and running asap.

Anyway - these are my thoughts- what do you scurvy lot think? Does Spore need serious improvements? Does it just need a bit of tinkering? Do you even care?

I would comment, but I just started playing last night...crawled out of the water, and then it was time to quit for the day.

Also the combat AI in the creature stage could be improved upon... the amount of times that my creature died because it wouldnt understand that it'd have to move in order to be able to hit the other creature is just unreal. so it just stands there while the other creatures in my group get killed and then turn to me...joy -.-

Can't say anything yet. EA and UPS seem to think it'd be really funny to give me my game tonight.

I reckon that the creature and tribal stages should've been a bit longer and none of the civilized clothes fit on my creature :(
