You have been captured by a group of Terrorists/thieves/Space marines/whatever along with over fifty other people, including your family/loved ones. They say that in two hours they will begin to start shooting hostages by the hour every hour until there demands are met OR...until they are beaten by someone in a game.

You decide to take this bet: If you win, you and all the other hostages go free but if you lose you and half the hostages will be killed. As the Terrorists/thieves/Space marines/whatever's lair happens to be filled with a variety of different games (They even offer russian Roulette as an option...because they're crazy like that), they allow you to pick the game to play. But, there is a catch: It is incapable of being any video-game or game that requires a computer screen/television/anything like that.

So..what game would you choose?

Russian Roulette. As I'm horrible at the other games and if I loose at any of those I'll be killed. In RR I'll either die or win, it's the same outcome of the other games, but it's governed by chance instead of skill.

I chose other.

I'd play them in dungeons and dragons, be GM and kill them all. SUCCESS.

Or, if we're being realistic (heh) I'd play them in D&D and just let the campaign go on for so long that we got rescued by the good space marines.

Chess.

But I do suck at those games, so... bye, bye everyone.
Well, you atleast tried?

And besides, chess is a cool game, you never know...you may just get lucky and win depending on who is chosen as your opponent.

Yu gi oh! Yu gi oh!
I'd just like one time that the game would save someone in real life.

I suck at chess, but if I can bluff my opponent well enough into thinking I suck even more than I actually do, then I can occasionally use that to my advantage. Who knows, I might get lucky.

I'd rather take my chances in a Texas Hold 'Em poker tournament with deep stacks.

From the list I'd go with backgammon, as that's what I'd consider myself the best at. Russian Roulette would be quite interesting as well.

Black Jack, as I actually have some skill at it. Otherwise we'd all be dead.

D&D sounds good too.

yeah back in the day when i used to play chess at lunch people would constantly fall for that move, but its too easily blocked so it only works once or twice.

generally when 4 move checkmate fails i will fail soon after that or the game will turn into this drawn out, i take your piece you take mine sort of games where there is no strategy and ends up being both of our kings and maybe a rook each. going for stalemate

I took Yugioh, cos they wont understand it and they wont be allowed to learn the rules.

As a second option, Russian Roulette.

With this playing
