So, today, while sitting in a class in a state of melancholic atrophy, I started picking up pieces of conversations like, "Almost time for Florida..." Or "Have to find a summer job....".

Suddenly more alert, I apprehensively ask the teacher what holiday's everyone's talking about, and I get laughed at. This does not amuse me. I demand an answer, and someone helpfully informs me I have TWO DAYS LEFT UNTIL SUMMER. I seriously didn't see it coming. Not only do I have no plans for the summer, which I always do, I'M BLOODY GRADUATING.

Never before have I wished for MORE school time. So not ready for Summer, or venturing out to find a job and support myself. This sucks.

When you get older, you start to realize that summer is a wonderful thing. Not because you get any time off. You don't. But because when you leave work, there's actually some warmth and daylight left so you're not going home in the dark and lamenting another perfectly good day shot straight to hell.

Plus, I go to bed earlier on summer nights---I usually use the sunrise as my "time for bed" signal so when it comes up at five instead of seven, that's a good thing.

I go to college (and enjoy it) and work part time during college and full time during the summer, the only real break i get is during winter when the campus closes, i dont care about summer anymore, although i do enjoy school so its not that big a deal

Summer really doesn't apply to me since I work full time. However back when I was in school it met drinks and parties almost every night.

Still have about 3 weeks left of school, but I am ready for summer. I will probably start working over the summer very soon after though.

Exactly my sentiments. And (I know you don't deal with this at all where you live, SimuLord), not having to shovel a fuck-ton of snow just to get your car out to go to work is nice as well.

Your poll only seems to have options for those in school...

Anyways, I recently moved to Florida and am swiftly turning into a beach bum.

Summer isn't one of my favorite seasons as it gets way to hot at times. Fall is most likely my favorite season because it isn't to hot but not to cold either.

I'm getting a summer job, but its every-other-day and from 7-3, so it won't be as tiring as school, in addition to the money.

Besides that, I'm looking forward to sleeping and playing my bass again.

I'm the same and I'm still not used to it.
Too many times this month have I been caught out by a sunrise. But soon, I will catch it out and proceed to... DAMMIT!

Basically, I've been on summer break for ages now so I am filling that time by job-hunting.
As you may be able to notice, it has failed me.

I've been on Summer Break for a few weeks now. By "Summer Break," of course, I mean, "taking a course during the first half of summer that the university does not offer during spring or fall semesters, a course that I have to take."

Either way, hooray for summer vacation! That means high school chicks on the beaches all week long!
